I can totally relate! My 9 yr olds dads a looser 5 dwi's never worked and supported is and I wonder why us and not molesters and rappists and murderers ya know the BAD PEOPLE not us mommasdoing the best we can... WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY WHYYYYYYYYYYYYY WHYYYYYYYYYY

Bad things happen to good people every day.
I learned this lesson when my first son was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at age 10. My second son was diagnosed at age 14. I didn't drink or smoke and ate well while pregnant. I breast fed and made my own baby food because back then the baby food had suspicious additives. I knew people who drank, smoke and fed their babies whatever was convenient. Their kids were fine. For a long time I was very angry with God. Then I saw a women on a talk show who said that she had given birth to a child with serious heart issues. She said she knew that if God gave her a choice of a health child or this child she would have asked for her son with heart issues. She wasn't looking for an easy out. At that moment, I knew why I had been given these beautiful boys. I remembered this lesson when I was diagnosed with bc. I have already had the opportunity to influence others. I guess this is my path.

I felt bad for myself and
I felt bad for myself and thought "what did I do" to keep dealing with this. Then I was visiting work and a little girl was walking around with an artificial heart and she had been coded three times before she got it and I thought "what did she ever do this little innocent child?" I gave up wondering, because there is no answer, sometimes I think when I die and if I get to see God, that he will have some"splaining" to do as I see so much tragedy. Yet I have a feeling I wont care.

I have 2 people in my family like this and i wouldnt trade places with them for anything in the world. I have many, many trials thru my life...some are stacked on top of another and still would choose my life. Our trials and our trouble and disaeses make us who we are today and yes God can allow this for that purpose.
If you never had the trials you have had, do you think youd be the person you are today or would you be more like your brother? Something to think about.

rotten brothers...grr
Oh my gosh Jennifer - reading this was like reading my own words. Except my brother doesn't have his own business, he's on his way to prison. He's been a drug addict since his late teens...in and out of jail, prison, rehab, etc..has 2 beautiful kids that he continues to let down..constantly uses & abuses my parents...has stolen everything of value from them and has even broken into MY house before...the worst part of it is, he's in jail now, waiting for sentencing stemming from drug, parole violation, and theft charges, and he's writing my parents & calling them, begging them to write a letter on his behalf to the judge, saying that they "need him home to help take care of mom since she has cancer". THIS made me FURIOUS to no end. My mom was diagnosed 2 months after me - in the midst of chemo treatments I took her to have her follow up mammogram, I was with her in the surgeon's office when he told her she had cancer, I stayed at the hospital with her when she had her lumpectomy (all the while I was going through chemo).
I just wanted you to know I completely understand your feelings, i have a rotten brother too

Thank you, thank you again everyone.
I got up this morning, and knew what it all meant. I do not have that feeling anymore.
I am very happy for my brother, and pray he doesn't blow this opportunity for himself. The feeling I had was Gods way of wanting me to pursue Him for the answer. Why? He let me know that what I ask Him for He is doing. WOW

Bob you are so right.
God answered my prayers for my brother. I have said for many years my brother is so much better than how he lives his life. He has so much potential, but has wasted it. I have prayed that God show him he deserves better, he can achieve anything, he can succeed. For God to motivate him, inspire him. He is getting exactly what I have ask God to do for him.

I am touched knowing God is giving me my request because He loves me, and I love my little brother.
