Sue, how did it go today?

Hi Sue,

I think from another post that you have your 4th infusion today. Let us know how it went. I am particularly interested because my 4th hit me harder that the others did. But even at that, after about 1 1/2 weeks it was much better. And I don't think that we are on the same chemo - but still, let us know.

Hope it went real well, and I pray that the preds are easier this time also!

Later,
Tom

    4th
Still waiting to hear from Sue, hope it's going well. I agree with you Tom, my 4th 5th & 6th definitely brought out the bigger guns. By this time the neuropathy was starting to get really annoying for me. I couldn't really write and typing felt so weird with my fingertips tingling all the time. I think this is about the time when I noticed my energy levels dropping drastically, as well as having to take time to breathe deep, like my oxygen levels were low.

Hope you are feeling well and recouping as fast as possible.

    Hi Beth,

I was very interested in hearing about your experience with the last part of your chemo. I'll let you know how it goes with my 5th. I noticed that you were diagnosed in '06. So, does that mean that you are currently in remission?

Sorry, I know that I should remember from your previous postings, but - I'm old.

Also, what was your experience regarding the neuropathy and low energy? Has that corrected itself by now?

    I certainly hope so.
    Regards,

    Last parts
    Hey Tom,

Right now I am in remission, doing Rituxan maintenance. This is my third time around as I relapsed in January of this year. The last pet scan showed improvement, only spot left is in my lung, but the suv is under 2 so my onc is happy with that.

During my last few treatments I felt like the damn bus that came around the first time was back for another go around. My energy levels really suffered. About all I felt like doing was eating from the prednisone and sleeping. I took a lot of naps because I really couldn't concentrate to read or do any craft projects. I was feeling pretty good though. I have a history of migraines and allergy headaches and I was thrilled with the fact my chemo wiped out all my allergy problems. I did start noticing that if I didn't REALLY want to have something that was at the other end of the house, I didn't go after it. I did not make unnecessary trips. I most definitely took power naps off an on all day.
I felt tired x 10. Spent a lot of time in the chat rooms here. Just getting cleaned up in the mornings took a lot, of course I do honestly believe the fatigue was hardest on me because of the added FM issue. Sometimes when I see what others do throughout the course of chemo, I feel like a total wimp LOL.

The neuropathy was really bad the last 2 cycles. Dropping things, unable to write or even drive, holding onto stuff and the cramps made me not want to do much. At the time I was on chemo we had new babies in the family and I'd go see them so I could just sit and cuddle with the babies. Sometimes it felt like my legs didn't belong, they just felt unsure of whether they wanted to support me. It was frustrating, because I was honestly feeling better...just worn out.

As for feeling better now? Yes. It's all good.

    Take Care,
    Beth

    Better is good
    Hi Beth,

No question that you had it worse than I have experienced so far. Hopefully my neuropathy will not get that bad, but I'm very glad to know that, if it does, it could still get better after the chemo.

    Best of luck to you,
    Tom (DLBCL-4-7/10)
