scared and alone
Last September the doctor found a mass on my left ovary after an ultrasound for some freak thing that they never figured out. I was 33 at the time. I am going back in on Monday (Nov 1st) for an ultrasound and CA 125 level check (that I should have gone in for months ago but couldn't because we lost our insurance), and then I will go in to see the gyn onc on the 8th. I am really scared. This time I have symptoms, last time, nothing. My husband just left last Monday... our marriage isn't doing well Not because of the cancer but lots of things. I think that is why this trip to the onc is so much harder. I am scared it is back and I am going to have to do this alone. I don't have any family other then my kids and they are still young. I don't know what to do. I'm scared that I waited too long to go back in for a recheck. I misses two 3 month check ups. My last one was in March of this year. I don't know why I am posting this. I know there isn't really a question in this post anywhere. I think I just need to know that I am not completely alone.

Hello Stephanie
Don't be scared - you are not alone. Everyone on here understands what you are going through. I too have had problems with my marriage so I understand how you may feel like you are alone - but you are not alone. We can chat on here anytime you like.
I don't think it is too late. There are lots & lots of chemo's they can use for ovca. I will keep my fingers crossed for you. Please let us know how you get on.

Your not alone
I have also had a recurrence of symptoms after 3 months remission. I must go for a CA125 test on Tuesday. I am also alone but I just trust God. These ladies will help you like they did me to understand the options out there for you. I knew nothing about this disease until I found this website. We are all in this together & take one day at a time0 -
What kind of symptoms do you
What kind of symptoms do you have?
I was diagnosed in Sept of 2009, too and my symptoms were very recent and very non-threatening. I thought I had gall bladder issues, as did my PCP. Surprise....it was ovarian cancer, stage IIIc.
It would have been great to have caught it, if it is OVCA, a lot earlier but you can't change what's already happened, so my advice now is to follow thru with all the tests and doctor's visits and get to the bottom of the whole thing. Have the surgery, if need be. If you ARE found to have ovarian cancer and it is stage III, you need to immediately apply for SS Disability. It's very quickly granted in cases of confirmed OVCA, stages III and IV. That will guarantee you will have medical insurance down the road, via Medicare.
But we are all hoping that it's something else. Just a cyst. That would be GREAT. Be sure and let us know.

Be positive
Stephanie, I started reading your post and it just made me cry. I remember when my husband had left me after 22 years of marriage and then I got cancer right after that. It was very hard but my children helped me to get through it. I felt so alone and didn't know what I was going to do. I, like you, didn't go to the doctor for checkups when he left because I didn't have insurance at the time.
Stephanie, hang in there.... I will be praying that when you go to the doctor, you will get good news.
Sending you positive thoughts. If you ever want to chat, just email a private message.

Going in tomorrow morning.
Thanks everyone. I go in in the morning. I am hoping that I can read the radiologist tech's face or that she will at least tell me if something is there. I have had both kind of tech's before.
@Carlene - My current symptoms are lower back pain, bloating and pressure, I have had two full periods this month and the rest of the time I have had bloody mucus, I'm tired all the time, have no appetite so I am losing weight (but that could be from stress too I guess), pain during my pelvic exam last week both when my gyn checked internally and externally, and I am peeing all the time.

Ultrasound today
Ok went for the US today. It was okish.. a little painful this time. Now I just have to wait for my gyn onc next Monday to get my results. I think what is bothering me most right now is that I have started bleeding (kind of heavier spotting) since my ultrasound today. I have had so many of these stupid ultrasounds and never had any kind of spotting or bleeding. Have any of you had this after an ultrasound? Is it normal?

I did not experience any bleeding after the US, but I had my uterus and cervix removed years ago.
You do have some symptoms of OC, but again, they could be lots of other things, too. Next Monday seems a long time to have to wait for results. My PCP called me at home the night of my US and gave me the bad news. He had ordered the US, thinking it was my gall bladder. Wish it had been!
Hoping you don't have the credentials to join our club....LOL
