Power port problems

Hi, I'm popping in from the ovarian board, wondering if anyone can shed some light on the power port. I have had mine for 3 years and it has worked like a charm. Yesterday, however when I went for my infusion, the drip was very slow. After changing the needle a few times, what they discovered is that it is not clogged, or blocked, but just way to slow. (I did use an IV yesterday, and that went smoothly.)

Next week, I will go in and see m gyn/onc, but wondering if anyone else has had problems with the port or tubing getting lodged causing a slow drip? I have heard of the port working it's way through the skin, having to be replaced, but that seems to be intact.

Any input welcome.
Thanks✿
kathleen

    Hi Kathleen :)
Luckily, I had no problems with my port, however, I did know a few folks that had it clogged.

I hope they figure out the problem fast!

    Pop on by anytime!

    Hugs & Blessings,

Kathleen .. I am so sorry to hear about your blocked
port. I had issues, but it was more to do with the location of my port ..inner upper arm.

Hoping someone .. pipes in with a suggestion for you.

Ports, can't live with 'em, can't infuse without 'em...
Have you been getting the port flushed every 6 weeks or so?

    Hi Kathleen
    Sorry i didnt

    Hi Kathleen
Sorry i didnt have that problem with my power port...i just had clogging issues...they could push stuff thru but couldnt take it out...it was usually a one way clog...Lol!
Suggestion thou...maybe you just got a bad piece of tubing that held out for as long as it could ...weak tubing can collapse or suck shut...causing slow drip. Im just throwing ideas out there.
Hope you come over and visit us again!
