Well, it turns out that neither of my abscesses was causing the fever. I had a UTI that was resistant to the antibiotic I was taking for the abscess. The cultures from the abscess were clear, but I had a resistant strain of ecoli in my urine. I had no idea I had any issues with my Urinary tract because I was having no symptoms at all. Guess it was pretty early into the infection, but with my body worn down from the chemo, it was enough to cause some serious issues. Anyway, I talked the Dr. into letting me come home today. He set up an appointment for me early next week with my GP just to follow up. Funny thing is, I haven't spiked any fever since I got home & I slept for about 4 hrs this afternoon. My temp would usually jump up when I slept. I'm just so glad to be home!

    So glad to hear
    that you are at home and feeling better. Rest and your antibiotics are probably the best things you can do for yourself now. Wishing you a speedy recovery.

    and the drs. found the problem. How are the teeth, and the pain? I'm glad you are on your way to recovery. That was a scare I'm sure.

    good news -they found the problem and you have been treated with proper medication fighting infection well.

    Yes, there is no place like home and your own bed to help you relax. Get some cranberry juice to help you through the UTI. I've never had one but worked in a clinic that really recommened the cranberry juice. I really craved the stuff while I was on chemo and rads. Must be a great natural product because I still crave it. Hope all goes better now your home.
