Hi everyone! I told Craig that I would report on Jacks side effects (or lack of) after receiving the Cal/Mag infusion before his chemo.
The first night he did have sensitivity with his first bite of food.
He did feel a shock when he picked up a bag of ice the next day(it's amazing how fast we forget...ha)
He was able to drink Milk that had sat out for just a minute or three...he said his throat felt "numb" while drinking it, but that is all.

Today is 6 days from start day and he had ice tea at lunch and ice cream cake for desert tonight. No issues.
He has not mentioned any tingles in his hands or feet.
Not sure that this means much after one tx...will post again next week to tell whats up after treatment #2.

Headed to bed (surgery in morning for me) will come back when the percocet kicks in tomorrow night. ((O:

Prayers to you all!
Chriss

So glad that Jack seems to be doing well with the treatments. I'll be interested to see how his next one goes. I do hope that the cal/mag helps him.

You take care and I hope that you have a most uneventful surgery. I will say a prayer for you.

Thanks Lori! I am so hoping
Thanks Lori! I am so hoping things get better for you also! Ya know the saying God won't give us more than we can handle..(which as of lately I've been responding with...he must have me confused with someone else..haha) well, we all know He knows what He's doing. If Jack had your experience he would have left that room and never went back...IMO until it was to late, if ever.
I am not sure he is yet in the "fighter" mode...think he's getting there, but he's not quite past the "what the hell!" stage. (o:

Thank you for the prayer,,can I make a request? hehe...please pray the Doc finds whats wrong and FIXES it already! I've joked that the next step is a psych unit...but 5 months after this pain started (and what seems like every test in the world) I'm thinkin I might need that rubber room after all. *wink*

Absolutely there is a prayer that the doctor finds the problem for you. No one should have to be in pain this long without an answer. I will think of you today and pray for the answer.

    I Feel Good About This....
Just know it's gonna' work. It does not take everything away, but it certainly lessens it to a more manageable degree.

He'll be able to wash his hands under cool water for much longer than before. He may be able to get something out of the freezer and hold onto it much longer than previously - and without gloves.

And the fact that he can swallow anything cool or cold without feeling that intense pain, is a sign that something is working for him.

Keep this up during every infusion - it can only help him and not hurt him - I believe this to my dying breath, for what that's worth.

Stay strong, Chriss! Hubby will figure out how to fight as he comes to grips with what's happened. It doesn't happen overnight, it's a process as he transforms himself from victim to pro-active fighter.

Tell him to put up his "dukes" and start swinging for the fence - I'm counting on him!

    Take care - Craig
