Best wishes and prayers that all went well today for Den. xoxoxo Lynn
I just got home and was going through the posts and then was going to post my good news.
It brought tears to my eyes that Moopy, sweetheart that she is, posted this and all of you dear hearts responded. Well your prayers and good wishes certainly worked. Den's surgery went well. There were actually two hernias so he had a bilateral hernia operation. I told him that he was just competing with my bilateral lumpectomies. The large one was tricky and part of his colon had gone through and had to be pushed back into place but now everything is behind mesh and where it should be. He will be in the hospital until tomorrow afternoon. They want to make sure that no cardiac issues arise. We are so relieved this went well. They used a spinal block instead of a general as it is safer for his heart. We will address that issue soon. He will be getting an echo after he heals and then we will see if he needs surgery or if we will continue with the medications. His heart rate was a little over 90 going into the surgery but his blood pressure is good so the meds have helped. We are just taking one step at a time. Just before his surgery, Den told me he was worried that they would find something (cancer) when they opened him up. I reassured him that wouldn't happen but in the very back of my mind I was worried also (I failed my don't borrow trouble rule) but all was good. Just a normal, nasty hernia. I can't believe that we are happy it was just a hernia. So thank you all and thank you sweet Moopy for this uplift to my spirit.

Stef, & Den.
You are both in my prayers and thoughts. My husband had hernia surgery also and then a few years later got another on the other side and had surgery again. he felt much better after surgery. He had been in allot of pain with his. He had the first one for thirteen years. The second he went right away because he knew how good he felt after surgery the first time. Best of luck to you both. It will all turn out well. Sending prayers up for you both. Take care Kay0 -

Den has had that hernia
Kay,
Den has had that hernia from before I knew him 37 years ago. He was more than happy to have the second small one done as well. Guys are really a separate species but I wouldn't change him for anything.
And again, thanks to all of you. The good thoughts and prayers mean so much. It's like being wrapped in a warm blankie.

Sooo Glad!
To hear that all went well for Den with his surgery and that the worst of both of your fears have been relieved.
Wishing Den a speedy recovery and you, dear Stef, some rest.
Love,

"Doris" is a bad, bad girl.Aortus said:Sorry we didn't reply earlier
But by the time I was able to tell Moopy the good news, "Doris" had already struck. We are so thrilled to hear that Den is doing well, and that you are too!
Love,
Joe, Moopy, and the Pups
"Doris" is a bad, bad girl. And yes, Den is doing very well. He is sitting here enjoying a race and a bowl of fruit and just had a pain pill.
