tumor
That 'new' tumor may not be a tumor at all. In my experience, a single CT scan will discover anomalies (such as this purported tumor) but it takes multiple scans, at least two, to determine whether a detected mass is growing. The detected mass may be scar tissue from whatever treatment you have been receiving, it may be the result of bronchitis or pneumonia, it may be the result of a current lung infection, it could be any number of things.
On the other hand, it has not been my experience to have new tumors show up during treatment, but I'm sure it happens. Sometimes it takes multiple TYPES of chemo to discover what works best for an individual against a particular type of cancer.
I wish you the best.
Take care,

Hi I'm new here,
my Husband was diagnosed with lung cancer 2 and a half month ago, they said it started in the stomach and spread to his right lung(its full of it) and to his brain. He received ten radiation therapies for his brain and after that 3 chemos. On Tuesday he had an cat scan and today the doc let us know the results. The chemo didn't help it spread already to the liver and its up to us, or better him, if he wants another chemo, but she said it woudn't help. So he has another one.
We are from Germany and my mother-in-law gave all the medical information to her Doctors and they said if he make it to christmas its a wonder. I am like numb inside, I', crying a lot but we have two kids(13 and 14) they know what he has, but don't know yet how bad it is.
I don't know what to say or to feel.
I'm sorry
