Never really done
Yes Vinny, You are so right. Actually having cancer seems like the never ending story. Sorry that your counts are down and sending positive thought that it's just a temperary thing. I have a friend who finished his chemo a few years ago and now his platlet count is really low. He's had a ton of tests showing nothing and still his counts are off. He is being watched very carefully but it's clear that his bone marrow is now compromised. It must be daunting for you but you always seem to stay so positive. Go Vinny!

Thinking positive...
Hi Vinny,
Well...I'm just going to think good positive thoughts that it was the viral infection messing with your counts and shortly they will come up on their own. How long is she going to wait to do another blood test, and did she say how long it takes after a viral infection clears up before the counts will climb? Hopefully it won't be too long of a time! Always thinking of you Vinny!...Sue (FNHL-2-3A-6/10)0 -

Thanks for the comments, Sue and Leslie, she is going to wait two weeks, always having bone involvement is always a problem, but I can't control it. Just trying to take it as it comes, on a cool note, my wife and I are going to Marco Island, Florida for a week. We are leaving this Saturday. I much needed diversion for the both of us! I'm not feeling great, but I will just take in the sunsets!!!!!!! Vinny0 -

Hi Vinny,
Sunsets in Florida are so beautiful. Sit back and enjoy.
My experience with blood counts are this. Always run low or very low normal. Ever since I had rads in 97 my counts are a mess. Yes it is because of bone marrow. I know that this different than what your going through, but wanted to share about never really getting back to "standard normals". Do your best to stay away from coughing sick looking people, it's hard to do. I was worried when we were in florida and on the planes too. But I still enjoyed the sunsets...
Have a wonderful well deserved trip with Lisa..
Peaceful healing

Trip down south
The trip to Fl. sounds just like what the doctor would order, LOL. An opportunity to kick back and just enjoy those sunsets sounds just wonderful. And you and your wife have certainly earned this trip. A few weeks after my treaments ended my husband and I got away for 4 days to Cambria and it was just wonderful. I spent lots of time resting and enjoying the ocean views.
But are you sure your just not going away to get over Philly losing to the giants?
Sorry, had to throw that in, tee hee.
Enjoy you week away. We'll miss you.

Hello Vinny,
I am so sorry your blood counts are so low. You will certainly enjoy a much needed diversion in Florida. Sounds wonderful. No need to do much since you're not feeling well. Just lay back in the sun, and try to eat well to build yourself up. All we can do, all of us, is do the best we can.
Prayers to you, and all Maggie0
