My husband had his trache removed today also. Has been spitting up some blood since doc appt (they scoped him and also took out trache). Trying not to worry about it - will call doc if continues tomorrow.
Sounds like you are in same shape as him on swallowing. He also had swallow test today and it wasn't good. Will start swallow therapy Monday. Thank goodness for the peg tube.

I had some bleeding on removal but it has stopped. Kimmy, is your husband on blood thinners (clot)? I am and have had some bleeding off and on but it has slowed down. Definitely call doc in am but if it gets bad you might need to call tonight for advice. I agree about the tube. thank goodness.

What good news. Clean Pet and thinking of going back to work. - So positive. - Judy
Bleeding has mostly stopped, very tiny bit, not often when spits after getting up this morning. He's not on blood thinners but does take an aspirin a day.
I did call docs office this morning first thing and they said not to worry. If gets worse or continues for more than a couple of days let them know.
He didn't get much sleep last night, so is grouchy this morning, but other than that seems to be ok. (Or as ok as he can be at the moment, LOL) No breathing problems thank heavens.0 -
