Round 3 in the bag!
Home from chemo and all went fine. Got to the clinic at 9 and was home by 4. Met my new doctor and he seems ok...I need a little more time with him than 1/2 hour to give a solid opinion yet. They cut my benedryl down from 50 mg to 25 which eliminated the restless leg, and still didn't have any adverse reactions from getting a smaller dose. Works for me! They took blood again this morning and all of counts had gone back up from Friday's lab report. Don't have a clue why, but just happy they were good enough for chemo to be given. So...now if I can get through the next 4days of "you know what"...I'll be good to go again. Hyper Sue will back until Sunday folks!...ha!..Love Sue (FNHL-2-3A-6/10)
Grade of Lymphoma...

ROUND 3
Sue,
CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! If you are anything like me you should be ok after #3 with the usual up and down days. It really started to hit me after round #4. I started with more down days than up ones. Round #5 was a real knock downer. Round #6 was Whew!!!! I guess the body could only take so much before it all started to catch up. You are almost 1/2 way there. Doesn't things go fast when we are having so much fun? John0 -
info thanks

Hi allmost 60. I am so glad all went well tyesterday for you. I had my rituxin maintance 5th round given every 12 weeks today. Diagnosed NFL IN Jan 2009 and have been in remission since June 2009. I am having a PET scan on the 21st of Oct. Haven't had one in 14 months. I feel good and my exams and blood is good. My doctor is 38 and HOT. I asked the nurse what is the next stage up. from being a cougar(You know older woman thinks a Dr is good looking). She said the next stage is SICK. My husband and I laughed. I'm 63. God bless you and I hope things keep going well along your journey. God is good.0 -

Hi Joanie,
Thanks for the laugh...my new doctor is definetely "NOT" a hottie! I have a good friend who is "sort of" a cougar..she's 65 and been single for the last 12 years. She's been known to date a few guys wayyyyy younger than she is, but she doesn't go out "prowling" for guys. Live and let live!...ha! Yes...God is good indeed! Love..Sue (FHNL-2-3A-6/10)0 -

Hi Liz,
Good luck tomorrow with your chemo. Sure wish we didn't have to take the pred with our treatments...makes all of us a little goofy! I will keep you in my prayers and hope this week goes really fast for you. The pred week seems to go so slow for me even though my mind races 100 miles an hour.UGH! Check in when you feel up to it and let us know how your doing.

Sue,
I am on chemo right now resting. Little out of it but not too bad. This center is out of one of the meds - the Bleomythycin so after I am done with AVD I have to go to another town to get the Bleomythycin because all over the country the manufacturer is having problem producing it for some reason but hopefully will have enough in few weeks. Luckily, they have it for me today!!
Gotta go now!

Hi liz,
That seems absolutely crazy that your cancer clinic would be out of the medicine you need. I would think instead of making the patient drive to another town to get the medicine the clinic would have had the forethought to have it sent to them "BEFORE" your appointment. We can put men on the moon and get information in a nano second, but a cancer clinic can't keep enough medicine on hand.....C-R-A-Z-Y!!! Just my humble opinion... I'll keep you in my prayers for a good evening after treatment! Love...Sue (FNHl-2-3A-6/10)0 -

Hey Sue,
Sorry I've been off board for quite a while. Lots of good news while I was gone. It was good to hear that you have done well on your third infusion. I think that I'm just one infusion ahead of you. I had my fourth last Thursday. Wow, what a difference. I started getting hit before I even got off the chair. Most of my problems have been related to tiredness, neuropathy and coughing. (They think that the coughing is due to tumor activity in and around the pleural? cavity.) Up till now I start feeling these side effects a day or two after infusion - but this time they all started hitting before I even left the center. Tonight is my first night without the pred, and frankly, I'm not looking forward to it. I think the pred really helps keep some of these things at bay, and they are hitting hard this time.
BUT, I am not sick (as I define it), so all is actually well. I did have some nausea this morning while waiting to get a pneumonia shot, but I went ahead and took a med for it and didn't have any more trouble. So, that is the important thing for me.
How about a suggestion on how to write my dx. I don't even know all of the details of it yet, but most of it is: diffuse, large, B-Cell NHL, stage 4; July 2010. I'll try to get the rest of the details tomorrow when I can get into my account at Anderson. But give me a suggestion for a rational abbreviation if you can.
Thanks,

Hi Tom....Maybe this would work..
NHL-DLBcell-S4-7/10...I don't know..it's up to you really. Maggie suggested we write our cancer info to help folks remember what type of cancer each of us has. It's totally a voluntary thing. I read your other thread before this one and it makes me sad to hear you feeling so frustrated. However..I "really" do understand where your thinking is at though. Yesterday I told Steve I wouldn't blame him a bit if he wanted to leave me. He looked at me like I was totally nuts! I told him it wasn't fair to him to be stuck with me being not the same woman he married. I've always been very energetic and healthy, and now he's stuck with this woman thats constantly going to a cancer clinic for God knows how many more years to come. I feel like I've ruined our dreams of getting our little log home down on the river and it just seems so sad for him. I told him he deserves someone thats whole and able to enjoy fun filled fishing days with him. This has been a much tougher week for me for some reason..I'm not re-bounding as quick as before after stopping the pred. I felt awful yesterday, better today, but knowticed some sudden fatigue off and on after hardly doing anything today. Maybe thats why I got so darn emotional yesterday. Needless to say...Steve told me he wasn't going anywhere that didn't include me by his side and said we were in this together no matter what. I'm not a moody unsure kind of person, so I'm praying this is just a bad week and those kind of thoughts will not linger in my head. Funny how you are having emotional thinking also and we are close to same amount of rounds. Must be a midway crisis type thing..ya think? Sure is out of charachter for me...Take care and I'll keep good positive thoughts and prayers for you and all of us! Sue...(FNHL-2-3A-6/10)0
