Tony Gwynn has cancer

"Hall-of-Famer Tony Gwynn is fighting a case of parotid cancer, according to a story in his hometown newspaper, the San Diego Union-Tribune. Gwynn has had three surgeries since 1997 to remove tumors on the parotid gland, and the former Padres outfielder told the Union-Tribune that his latest operation revealed a malignant tumor."

Gwynn played for the San Diego Padres and was a known dipper (chewing tobacco). I'm sorry to hear this and hope Gwynn's popularity can spread the word about H&N cancer screening and prevention.
