well it's really good to see that these posts are still around. i was a follower of these forums about 7 years ago when my family was goint through my dad's stage 3 colon cancer. this forum was a God send to me and I am forever grateful. I am happy to say that 7 years later my dear father is still cancer free (thank the good lord) and there is not a day that goes by that I dont' thank God for that.
Now I am having a new dilemma, all of a sudden my mom has developed intermittent abdominal pain and once again I am terrified that it's GI related. She went to the doctor today and the doctor assured here that it was probably nothing but just to make sure maybe she should get scoped. Her pain is in the middle of the abdomen and as usual i'm thinkg horrible thoughts like of course colon cancer, pancreatic cancer, stomach cancer etc etc. I went throught a horrible time with my dad's cancer (severe depression, medication, therapy etc etc) and just the thought of going through that again is bringing me to tears. I know abdominal pains can mean just about anything in a 69 year old but I'm so scared all of again. For some reason I keep thinking it could be pancreatic cancer??? I know I sound crazy but any thoughts, suggestions or just someone to talk to would really help right now.

It is good to hear that your father is doing so well. We all love hearing stories like that. I am sorry your mother is having the abdominal pain. I think that when you have been touched my cancer, your mind naturally suspects cancer when symptoms arise. I hope this is not the case for your Mom; I hope it is something innocuous, but I think it is good to be scoped, etc. to eliminate possibilities. Take good care!0 -
