Well, I found out today that I will be starting a clinical trial. It is a phase II trial of an oral medication called ENMD-2076. The drug works in a similar way as Avastin does, by cutting off the blood supply to the tumor. My latest CT scan on 9/30 showed stability with possible slight advancement. No obvious advancement is good. My CA125 has jumped up lately so something is brewing. It was decided I should probably go into the trial because it is closing this week. They said they'd hate to keep me on the same regimen only to have advancement on my next scan and the trial would be closed.

    Nancy,

    Best wishes in this trial! I continue on the PARP trial but did not get the inhibitor. I still must follow the regime set forth by Abbott Lab.

    So the first 2 months I was going to The James Cancer Center every Monday which is a 2 hour drive for us one way. Now we are down to one trip for blood work the Thursday before chemo and then Chemo the following Monday. So far I have been on schedule. My 4th infusion should be this Monday.

    My doxil is a higher dose than what you would normally receive. My first scan after 2 infusions showed no change in tumor, but CA125 went from 363 to 151! ☺

    Side effects are getting more pronounced but still managing. The mouth sores are the worse! Keeps me from talking so much. ☺
