Excellent to hear of your reaching the end of the road- of treatment, and starting on a new one that's one heckuva lot better than the one you been on. Oh yeah.

Congratulations! Sometimes there is a little bit of a blue period now, I am not sure why.
I had it and so have others, maybe it is expecting things to recover faster than they do??
Glad it is over!

VERY INSPIRING READING
Doug, great news, I can only immagine how much relief you and your family must feel. How did you fare with the side effects?
After today I have 13 Radiation Treaments left. I am having horrible side effects that caused me to have to work from home and only home starting almost 2 weeks ago. Very thick mucous, 2 or 3 huge sores on my Tongue and Mouth, daily low grade fevers, I sweat all day with or without a fever,Teeth pain, ETC.
I can still swallow as I am on 150 MIC's of Fentanyl, and Oxycodone Liquid as needed. I also get a Liter of NS via my Catheter every day. I have accepted the fact that a PEG is probably on it's way as the only nutrition I can tolerate by mouth are high calorie shakes and Ensure or Boost.
I literally live day by day right now as I am just miserable.
Your post of making it through has inspired me. At least for today!
Any suggestions for more comfort with the side effects??
All the best

Even though she's an excellent Certified Hypnotherapist, I didn't have my wife make me self-hypnosis CDs. We just bought them from Health Journeys, Belleruth Naparstek. I don't know why and I don't know how and I can't prove for sure... but I believe with all my heart that listening to a CD every day before I would take a nap really helped me to handle the side-effects much better than most people. I have the Radiation and Fight Cancer CDs.

Way to go Doug, sorry for the late post, but I've been away for the past week. Here's hoping your recovery is smooth. Cheers
