Has anyone experienced a burning in their throat or feeling of not being able to
swallow food while on carbo/taxol? My mom is feeling like she can't swallow and this
burning sensation in her throat and nothing seems to help it. She has is getting severe
heartburn. She's tried Pepcid and similar drugs and they don't seem to help at all.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

    I never experienced that....
Did you call the doctor? I never heard of throat complications. But maybe someone else did????

    No... but
could it be nausea? Sometimes I have a hard time determining whether I have heartburn or nausea with chemo. Do you have a chemo nurse or other contact to call?

    burning
She should report this right away to her doctor/nurse. It sounds like a possible allergic reaction.

    Heartburn
    Hi,
My Mom has had heartburn for years but it got much worse once she started chemo. The over the counter stuff does nothing to help mom so she got a presciption for something called Rabeprazole. It works almost instantly.
Try not to fret, it is not that unusual.
    Good luck,
    Kelly
