I hope your visit with your mom brought you overwhelming joy! I know when I woke up in ICU and saw my family around me, I could only smile- esp. in my heart 'cause I had one of those CPap machines on my whole face!. If she starts to feel better, I would suggest a childrens Magna-doodle for her to write on. It saved me from getting to exhausted from trying to talk with the mask on. My duaghter brought me a sign language placemat so I could spell out what I needed to say, but the Magna-doodle was perfect. You can find one at Target/ Toys R Us etc.. Be safe- blessing for you and your mom, Ellen0 -

Thank you for all the kind words. I arrived Sunday and have watched my mom slowly come back to life. She had a pretty good case of ICU psychosis when she woke up but it is lifting each day. She has both chest tubes out and all IVs unattached. She still has her trach but can breathe room oxygen now. The trach was plugged on Tuesday and she has been talking ever since. She's very confused about where she is currently but yet answers all questions about her work, home, computer log ins, etc just perfectly. Her motor skills are getting better each day and she is now able to feed herself with a spoon. She is due for her 4th Cisplatin tx on Monday. They seem to be going well. I have not been able to catch the oncologist but hope to ask more questions related to tx, ca-125, etc. when I find her. My mom should be moved from ICU in a couple of days. This whole thing has just been crazy. My brother flew up yesterday for the first time since this got started and was able to show her the engagement ring that my mom had given him that was reset. That made me very happy. Now... If she could make it to the wedding. After everything that has happened over the past 5 weeks that she was unconscious, I think that anything is possible now.

5 weeks unconscious. I can't imagine how difficult this has been for your family. Something must be working! So glad to hear good news.0 -
You Mom
I don't post very often but I do check in at least a couple of times a week. I am so happy to hear that your Mom is on the mend. It gives me great strength and hope when my Mom is fighting this dreadful disease to hear that your mom has such determination.
I am so happy for all of you.

That is so incredible. I'm so happy to hear she's doing so well. Enjoy all your time you have with her. I wish my mom could get her chest tubes out. They make her so incomfortable.
Good to hear your brother came to see her and show off the ring. I'm sure that put a smile on all of your faces. Keep on keeping on.0 -
