I know Deanna, on the Uterine Cancer Board, has this.
I remember a thread on Lynch Syndrome where a number of ladies posted about their experience with it. If you the Search feature of this board on the Uterine Cancer Board (and also try it on this board) you should be able to pull up the archived thread on it. I know that Deanna, from the Uterine Cancer Board has Lynch Syndrome, and that she is in a prolonged remission with no recurrence or spread for over a year now!
If you have trouble finding it, please post again and I will try and find it for you.0 -

Thanks so much.
The genetic link between OVCA and Colon Cancer (Lynch Syndrome) is easily determind via DNA testing, but it's expensive unless you meet your insurance company's criteria. I didn't have it done because of the cost ($700 my part) but I did elect to have my regularly scheduled colonoscopy moved up a year. My first colonoscopy, at age 55, showed 8 polyps, so I had to go back in every year for a while and each scope revealed polyps. This last one though.....zero polyps. Lynch Syndrome is rare, according to my gastro guy.

They already checked with her insurance and it isn't costing her anything. She mainly wants to do it for us...due to the fact that if she has it we have a 50% chance. Mom was 32 when she had her first colon cancer. Then 10 yrs. later she had so many polyps they had to go in and remove a large portion again. Then 1 and a half yrs. ago the colon cancer returned and less then a yr. later she was diagnosed with stage IV ovarian. Right now her white cell count is really low and she has a infection she is fighting. She has 1 more chemo treatment left. I believe they plan on doing another PET scan when she completes the last chemo treatment. She has stayed so positive through the whole thing. I have a 36 yr. old sister with Downs Syndrome who has always been at home with mom. Holly doesn't talk and is still in diapers. Mom cares for her everyday. I don't see how she does it. I know her faith gets her through.
