Porcini mushrooms! Picked from the field across the street!! They were EVERYWHERE!!!

(Yes I checked them first...they are truly porcini...edible and YUMMY!!!)

    I have only ever had them dried + re-hydrated; I bet fresh would be unbelievable.

    It's a bumper year for mushrooms...
    The Netherlands has received so much rain, it seems to follow that after a few days of sun, up come the mushrooms!

    There are many other types growing here, as well...some are edible, some not...but the porcini...welllllll....they are so close to meat in texture, it's truly a treat!

    mmmmmmm!
    ...and left-overs were tonight....

    I can't remember per pound how much we paid in Barcelona for fresh ones, but I remember it was not inexpensive!

    My beau went out again today, and found more. We will freeze/dry them...we leave for the US on Tuesday....
