Welcome
Hello Brindle beagle and welcome to this discussion board. Welcome to your dad also. I was a caregiver for my dad. He passed away in March from esophageal cancer which went to his liver. Do not jump the gun. You have to take this whole journey one thing at a time. Right now the only thing you need to think about is getting the correct diagnosis. Then the mass or tumor has to be biopsied. Then if it is cancer....it has to be staged. There are some new treatments for liver cancer. Do not think the worst. You have to stay positive and pray pray and pray some more. If you are not happy with his first diagnosis, by all means get a second opinion. There are many great people here, who will be able to help you and your dad. First things first, get the correct diagnosis, and then go from there. Keep in touch.

Hi Brindle, my heart goes out to you. March 17,2010 my dad was told the same thing by an ER doctor. He went in with abdominal pain he has no past medical history and is very healthy he is only 54 years old. What part of the states are you from, what is the next step are they going to do a biopsy? There is a chance it could be a benign mass but it is usually unlikely. Please keep us updated0
