pain medication and mastectomy

Newbie here!
I had a mastectomy two weeks ago today, and I still need my pain medicine(hydrocodone)-one pill every four hours. Is this normal? I tried extra strength tylenol and it didn't help? How long were you on pain meds? What is too long?

    I am an oddball
    Before my surgery i was in terriable pain. after no pain,I laugh at the pain meds giving me. everyone is different. I woke up numb.Some one on here should to be able to help you

    Actually I only took the pain meds the first day or two after I got home. Then I took Extra Strength Tylenol during the day. I did continue the pain meds at night, just hoping it would help me sleep longer. However, everyone is different. If you have been taking them for 2 weeks, you are probably close to being out of them. I know my doctor didn't give me that much of a supply. You may want to check with your doctor.
