Way to go!
Congratulations Vinny!
You are an inspiration to me. Man, you have been through it! I feel like I'm so lucky - but just started, of course.
Great to hear that you got your 7th over with. My prayers are with you for your 7th recovery, increased counts, no heart issues.
Thanks for all your postings.
Sun is coming up here in Texas, hope it brings good light to your day.

Great news on receiving your 7th treatment, my mom's 7th is coming up next week. I second the comment about staying positive for all who are involved in your life. I definately am when I am back with her in Ohio but when I head back home my mind starts playing tricks with me.

Hey Vinny,
Just FYI. Yesterday AM was the end of this cycles 100mg/day preds.
Bus stopped at the house during the night.
I really enjoy your posts.
Thanks,

Wow!
Good news on getting through #7. Maybe think twice about that blood transfusion. It could be just the boost you need to see you through. For her to even offer it is a big deal because they are very hard to come by. The MD's have to have an iron clad case to justify why it is needed before they can even do it. It is much safer and more effective then Procrit. Think of it as an inside, nice, cleansing shower. If it had been needed I would have done it in a heartbeat. Speaking of heart, good luck with that. I am thinking it will be OK. Your hearts just working
really hard. As always stay tough and thoughts and prayers are with you. It's funny because in yesterdays post to you before your treatment I was going to ask you if your MD had offered a transfusion because it is clearly indicated but then didn't. Now I wish I would have. It may not have changed anything but maybe you wouldn't have been shocked. Mary0 -

Hi Vinny,
I so hoped you would post before we left town this afternoon...'YES"!You have become a household name around here. Hubby comes home from work and with-in an hour asks me.."how are Vinny's blood counts doing?" I'll be thinking positive good thoughts all weekend for you and everyone else in the group!...Sue
Tom...aint that bus somethin??? It showed up around 5:00 last evening right in the middle of fixing diner...hubby took over, so all ended up fine. Take care...Sue0 -
Glad to hear
Hi Vinny,
So glad to hear that you made it through #7. You sounded so worried, with your counts being so low. I'm just glad that the Drs felt that you were strong enough to go ahead.
About that transfusion, I've had so many I lost count. At least 40 or so. I would say go for it. You will feel so much better in such a short amount of time.I usually would feel better by the next day. The most amount of units I have had at one time was 4. They were giving me three, but the i.v. failed and they had to toss part of one and start a new one. Won't be a problem for you, I think you would get it through your port. The blood banking system is so much safer than in the past. If it was offered to me, I'd go for it. Please think long and hard about receiving it. Your RBC is so low and that really messes with everything, including your heart. You must be so tired of feeling so tired. You really need all the tools you can gather to fight the fight. Just look at it as a bag of strength. BTW every time I got blood, I also got benadryl. Makes you sleepy. Well, thats my two cents worth of experience. Thinking of you..
