dilator
Hi sephie
Im currently receiving treatment at MDA and Dr Das is my doctor. They are using a dilator during the radiation treatment, they found it lifts the vagina out of the radiation beams and helps to protect the vagina walls. I also got one for home use which Im to use 10 minutes a day also the gyno gave me estrogen cream that im to use 2 times a week. So far so good, im itching quite a bit at times and today is the start of my 4th week...0 -

thanks for the reply. good for MDA. my radiation oncolog. was Delclos. sounds like they learned something. i had to reopen my vagina and am still using dilator each day or almost each day ( tired of all the maintenance) for 10 minutes- my last chemo and radiation was July 2009. i have not used the estrogen cream because i am still too sore around my anus for any sexual activity. it would pull on the tissue too much. my poor hubby has had to endure this. oh well.0 -

I had Dr. Crane and it was used during radiation. I have had minimal problems as a result. Dr. Das is good, very serious though! lol I met with him once when Dr. Crane was out of town.

so I seriously need to know the difference between a dialator and a dildo. MY rad Doc didnot have dialators available and I am wondering if I should order a dialator instead of just a novelty item.

In discussions on this topic that I've been involved in previously, there are some women who say they prefer using a dildo. Their complaint about the dilators has to do with the rigidity of them. I use a dilator, but have given considerable thought to trying a dildo for the very same reason. It's definitely a very personal personal choice!0 -
