I hosted a party at my house, it is not about big C
Many of you who are going through your initial shock of Cancer diagnosis or struggling with Chemo probably think that I am nuts. If so, please read my profile. You can see that I have been through serious circumstances and medical uniqueness. We keep saying about the light in the end of the tunnel and it is sounds like a cliché. But it is very true. Going through treatment you need see to the light. If you cannot do something today, does not mean you will be not able to do it tomorrow. Give yourself time and have a simple dream and you will achieve it.
Hugs everyone,
New Flower

Woww!
Not sure which to be more impressed with....new job, new place, or cooking a GOURMET dinner for 8 people! Roasted apple stuffed duck- really? How am I ever going to be happy serving my friends pizza again? Not even when healthy did I attempt a meal like that- and I'm 48 years old!
Oh, and I suppose flourishing post treatment should be mentioned also- definitely no small feat! It's great to see, and inspiring to those of us just beginning this journey.
Bravo- keep blooming!

So glad you were able to do this and enjoy it. I am a bit of a foodie and love to entertain too and I have to say, I've never tackled a stuffed duck. Can I come next time (I'll watch you prepare it--sort of a gourmet cooking class)!!!!

Congratulations New Flower!
Congratulations on your new job, new home & your successful dinner party. The menu certainly sounded delicious and the wine...yum! I know you had to have felt relieved once the dinner party was over and it was such a success. Good for you. Hugs, Jean0 -

Way to go New Flower. It is so good for everyone to see that life goes on and back to some type of "normal". Although in my old normal, new normal or future normal I would never be able to do a duck with apple stuffing. It's all I can do to order pizza and get it right. LOL Seriously, happy about the new job, new house and the great party. And what a treat to share a wine from a new, old friend. Enjoy life dear, you deserve it.

thanks New Flower
Just what I needed to hear. I have been getting frustrated because when I make plans now I find that I have to cancel because I am too tired or sore from the radiation. I want so much just to hold my grand kids but cannot do that right now.
I also wanted to visit my old job which is 6 hours from where I live now but can't imagine taking that drive either.
Nice to hear that eventually, life goes on and we can enjoy all that we love to do again.
Guess cancer is a lesson in patience among other things.

Way to go, New Flower -- I'm so impressed and proud of you!
I'm with Susan...you're making the rest of us look bad. :-) I love to cook -- but I've never attempted dinner for 8!
Seriously, дорогая, I'm so glad you shared this with us. It's so important for all of us here to see that there is life and joy and little triumphs and celebrations -- and good food! -- on the other side of treatment. And I think it was so perfect that Chen "contributed" to your special celebration.
Sending a big hug your way,
