So far so good...
Wow...fell asleep about 2:00 a.m. last night and slept straight through until 10:30 this morning. The major portion of my body aches have gone away and I'm feeling pretty good. Moving slow, but not overly exhausted or tired. I'm 100% back to normal with my bathroom business(yes!).. appetite is fairly good, and best of all, I don't have any signs of the "prednisone"..tense..antsy...stiff..."GONE"...thank goodness! It just feels so nice to not feel like I'm jazzed up on any chemicals. I'm anxious to get my blood counts in the morning and visit with my doctor...I'll share the results when I get home. I'm going to ask her about the N shot, John, and I'll let you know what she says. Hey guys...thanks sooooo much for the support during my first round..I swear..I will forever be grateful to all of you. You got me through the week...big kiss to you all!!! Hope you all have a great day and finish the holiday weekend on a happy note. Makin salmon patties, potatoe salad, and corn on the cob for din din. Hubby soooo deserves a little pampering today...he's been a real trooper! I am blessed in so many area's!
Love...Sue

So Far So Good
Thats great!!! You did a heck of a lot better than I did on my first round. So glad you did. I was only warning you of what could happen. Like they say, we are all different.Just be on the lookout for that bus to make a return call. I hope it doesn't, but watch for it. It can be sneaky sometimes. Just don't overdo anything or you will run into trouble. My 2nd and 3rd rounds were not bad at all. I felt a little tired, but not too much. The 4th round really knocked me back and I felt tired all the time. Go for round 5 tomorrow. I am anxious to see my blood counts. Get plenty of rest. John0 -

Glad they weren't too bad for you John. Seemed like to me round 3 wasn't too bad but I really think it just had to do with knowing what to expect. By 4-6 I was exhausted, but by then naps were a huge part of my day
Take care, and congrats sue, you've about made it through #1. Rest when you can.0 -

Hi John,
Good luck tomorrow! I can't believe you are already doing round 5...how time fly's when we're having fun...ha! I'm anxious to see what my counts are also. Don't forget to share if you feel up to it. I'm still goin good today...took a bath, washed & curled my hair, finished one load of laundry and fixed a good diner. Now it's time to curl up in my comfy chair and read my book while hubby watches colege football(Boise State vs Virginia Tech). Positive good thoughts coming your way!...Sue
Liz...Good luck to you also with your chemo tomorrow. Is this round 2? Hard to keep track of everyone...ha! I have you in my prayers also!
Love...Sue
Hope I didn't miss anyone having treatment tomorrow..if I did..."GOOD LUCK"!0 -

So glad to hear that you are doing so well. I typed you a big long post yesterday morning about the Prednisone and my experience with it etc. and somehow it did not post and is now forever floating in web heaven. I hate when that happens!! Anyhow looks like you are doing just fine so far and I wish you all the best. Mary0 -

Hi,
I think I will always stand out in everyones mind as the "prednisone" resident psycho! ha!ha!ha! I had myself psyched out from day one when my doctor said pred would be a portion of my chemo protocol. With that being said, I did knowtice a difference taking pred with chemo than in past instances when it was used for brocnchial problems. Thats not to say that I'm now a friend to the stuff, but I can say I'm not as freaked out by it. It's "do-able" and since I only have to take it the first 5 days during my 21 day cycle I will learn to live with it. My mind was my biggest enemy during this first round. Not knowing what to expect or how my body would re-act to the chemo coctail kept me in a state of medium to high levels of panic all of the time. I think the next round will go so much easier(mentally) because I won't be wondering all of the time if I'm just going to drop dead from a heart attack or something. Moving forward now! Thanks for caring Mary... hope you are feeling good and all is well.

I was anxious about all the meds...I don't like to take anything so this whole process has been character building for me to say the least. I have a benign arrhythmia or irregular heartbeat that can be triggered sometimes by certain factors such as medications and it seems like almost all meds have this as a side effect. So I freak out. But all ended up just fine. I have been reassured that this is not a dangerous condition for me but do see a cardiologist once a year for a check. Well that once a year is today...so off I go to yet another appointment. On the up side he said he will check to make sure I have not had any ill effects from all of the treatment etc. My EKG has always been normal etc. So it should be interesting to see. Keep doing good. Hi Mary,
Let us know the results of the EKG. I'll have you in my prayers. I head out in an hour for my first blood counts and doctor visit since having first chemo treatment last Tuesday. Feel absolutely great this morning and will be driving myself. Have a good day...
