Hi everyone...most of you know my husband had Lap LAR 2 weeks ago. He has been feeling pretty rough the last day or two and is worried...
He has a left sided pain.....has had testical pain...both of these start after he gets up.
He had no BM on day 8 or so after post op and Doc recommended Miralax. He took that x2, had movement so never took anymore. 2 BM's
today, small, formed.
Doesn't it always seem that problems/questions come up on weekends and holidays! sheesh

Not expecting a diagnosis as much as info on what you experienced after surgery...what to expect etc.
They basically sent him home and said "take it easy"...)0: When I worked OB we spent a good half hour with education talking through what to expect, what was normal, what wasn't. Now they print out a sheet telling you to call if you have a fever and that was about it.
Thanks!
Chriss

Sorry to be blunt but here goes........
Testical pain, I have it sometimes...about every 3 weeks if nothing happens in the bedroom it gets pretty severe. but in any case orgasm stops it almost immediately...and it is only on the right side so.......in any case it works for me.....Buzz

That is basically what I had done
That is basically what I had done. He took out a few inches of my rectum and all nodes near the area. Mine was old style open surgery. I have pain and marks where he clamped my gut skin to my sides. The drain tube even hurts. That is why we have good old percocet.

It has not been 2 weeks yet and I still feel like a truck hit me. He told me he checked over everything in my gut area visually and manually.

For me it feels like he walked around in there with his damn golf shoes on. I feel better every day. This one is just going to take a while get over. I have lost 20 pounds. Need to get that back.

    Kerry,

    Kerry,
Hang in there, I had the same surgery in Feb 2009. It will take the entire 6 weeks if not more to recoup from this! I ended up losoing 30 pounds, but I could have afforded to keep them off, but alas I did not, gained every freakin pound back!!! Keep up with the calories!
