Ventilator

I am having VATS Surgery Tuesday...How long can I expect to be on a ventilator ? Having a section taken out (lingula) that holds a 1.4 cm growth.......Thanks , Buzz

    Now, I don't know much about this, but reading up on it it doesn't look like you will be on a ventilator at all. You may have a chest tube put in (I had one when my lung collapsed) to drain any fluid that collects; this gets removed usually before you leave the hospital.

    Video-Assisted Thoracic Surgery, looks like they're mostly talking about using VATS for test purposes.

    Reading that, I think I did have VATS done when I had a talc procedure!
