First, I want to say thank you again for your outpouring of prayers and well-wishes from my previous post!(8-20-10) Now I'll try to respond to the many questions asking how I'm doing.

Friday, the 13th was the day that all seemed to be going well - cancer not gone but it was being managed. Just 4 days later I had reason to suspect that the tumors in the breast were growing again. Friday, the 20th an unscheduled appointment with my onc confirmed that. So we added Taxotere to my weekly treatments of Herceptin (plus Zometa once every 4 weeks). Two days ago, on the 27th I had my second treatment of Taxotere. After just 2 doses, I can't say with any certainty how well it's working (especially in the liver).

What I consider good news for now is that those areas of concern in the breast don't seem to be getting any larger. I will have one more week of the same regimen and then see my doctor on September 13th. I expect at that time he'll want to order a scan or MRI so we can know for sure what's going on.

Another bit of good news is that Taxotere is much easier for me than the Taxol was during those first 10 weeks of chemo. It's now been 27 consecutive Friday's with treatments, so I'm happy to be having less side effects than before. I actually feel pretty good and continue my regular routine. I remain optimistic and hopeful, and still plan to take part in the Komen Race for the Cure here in Evansville on Sept 25th.

    Glad to see you posting the news Marsha. I am sorry that you have the recurrence and that you have to do any of the treatments, but, I am glad that the Taxotere is easier for you. Good luck with your tests and keep us updated.

    Marsha, so glad to hear that the breast areas of concern have stopped growing, taxotere is more manageable, and you are feeling good. Thank you for posting your progress and news. I'm betting on you to be right up front in the Race for the Cure next month.

    I'm glad that adding Taxotere has stopped any growth and that it's much more tolerable for you. I'm glad you're feeling good and I'm sure looking forward to that picture you'll post from the Komen Race ;)

    Marsha, I am standing next to you ... having 18
    consective, Tuesday's with TCH .. I know a little about the pain and suffering you have been going thru.

    told u I was stupid. I wrote a comment and waited for ever for it to send. Apparently I didn't post comment, so heres another. lol
    You and everyone are in my prayers. i very happy the tumors are being "still". I will be ur shadow walker on Sept. 25th. What time do u start? That way I'll start walking here at the same time. NM time of course.Glad ur on a med thats working w less SE. that care my dear. Thoughts and hugs Katz
