Biopsy Results Back
I'm strangely calm about it, I guess because it is what we expected - doc gave no indications it would be anything else. Bob took it well. He had a regularly scheduled appt with Medical Oncologist (chemo doc) today for bloodwork and talked to him about it. He said he still thinks his chances are good and they can always follow up with some chemo if necessary after the surgery. I'm glad Bob saw him this week, he is a very calming, caring doc - whereas our lead doctor, ENT Oncologist SURGEON (that should explain it) doesn't have much bedside manner.
We are anxious to learn the extent of the surgery and how much neck dissection there will be to get to the couple of lymph nodes affected. He gave us several possibilities when we spoke earlier this week. I called office this afternoon because if Med Oncologist doc has results - then doc who performed the biopsy has them & could have called us already! Ugh. Their office is normally very good about immediately calling, so don't know what's up with that.
Keep the prayers coming please.... Thanks!

with you
Kimmy our paths are not so different. It is so hard to play the waiting game and guessing about everything. I wish I could say something to cheer you up. But words like that are not easy to come by. I have been thinking about you and your husband and son. I know everything that is running through your head.
I just want you to know I am thinking and wishing the best for your family0 -

So sorry to hear about the biopsy results. I will continue to pray for you and your family.
Stay strong and know that we are all here for you.

We always hold out hope that biopsy will come back negative. You were prepared and now you and your husband will journey forward. There are many here who can lead the way, so you do not walk it alone.
The radical neck dissection is not awful. Mark and I wanted to avoid it, but he has healed very well, and we figure this is the only thing that cancer is going to take. Everything else, we fight for and take back.
You will move through this.
My Best,

Sorry to hear, but you guys will pull through. I agree with Kim, the Neck Dissection for me was not bad at all. It looked worse than it really was. I was even discharged with no drains. I had 21 nodes removed and my dock saved my Muscle and only had to extract one nerve which will leave my right ear lobe numb for good. My scar is healing amazingly well and the only thing that is noticeable is some tighness in my neck due to all of the tissue removal.
Keep posting, we will get you through this.
BEST!!
