The lychee fruit prevents the growth of cancer cells

Lychee is another very tasty fruit that can be added to our anti-cancer diet.
Here it is what info I've found:

"Health Benefits:
• According to a Chinese book, the nature of the flesh of the lychee is warm and it can help improve the blood.
• The Chinese believe that lychee has the ability to relieve pain and shrink swollen glands.
• Studies done conclude that the lychee fruit prevents the growth of cancer cells. The flavonoids found in lychee fruit pulp were found to inhibit the proliferation of cancer cells and appeared to be especially effective against human breast cancer. The flavones quercitin and kaempferol identified in the French study were cited in an earlier study as a powerful force in reducing the proliferation of cancer cells. In a study in United States Department of Agriculture / National Cancer Institute Cancer Chemotherapy Screening Program, Lychee roots have shown some anti-cancer properties in experimental animals.
• Lychee is a rich source of vitamin C, a vitamin that the body does not produce naturally. Eating lychee can benefit those suffering from colds, fever and sore throats.
• Lychee helps the body to digest food properly for the best nutrition and an added boost of health."

I get these in cans; can't find fresh or frozen around here.
I slice these in chunks onto spinach salads, really yummy! I had no idea they were considered cancer fighters; I just like the taste.

My cancer came back anyway. (sigh) Must be because they were processed. I live in the sticks and can only get them canned.

    Lychees in USA
I don’t have any problem to find fresh lychees in Canada, but they never were in my daily diet (that will change now).
They are imported from Asia, but they also grow in USA (California and Florida).

I have never heard of lychees
I eat lots of fruits, but have never heard of lychees before. I will have to look for them. They sound interesting, and if they are cancer fighters, I am interested in eating them. Thanks for sharing.

    Lychee's
I saw lychee's at Whole Foods yesterday....in produce dept. in a clear plastic container and were 5.99 for the pkg. They are the color of a light colored raspberry. About 1-1/2 inch in diameter. Kind of bumpy on the outside. Apparently you peel them. Will try them one of these days...
