First of all, thank you to all of you ladies who joined me (even if you were late due to my lack of clarity as to the time) for my first mammo yesterday (Thursday) afternoon.
Did you know that you sent a real-life angel to help me that day? As I sat back in the waiting/dressing area awaiting my results (thank goodness they were able to give the results to me right then so I didn't have to wait), I started talking to the only other woman in there with me. It turned out she was also a survivor of 10 years, and she said that her cancer was at an advanced stage when they first found it, which was really encouraging. She went on to say that she'd had all of her treatments and follow ups at this cancer center, and two years ago she started working there too. She knew all of the doctors and when I told her that I had just been re-assigned to a different doctor due to my doctor leaving the center, she reassured me that I would really like the doctor I told her I'd been assigned to. I knew immediately that you ladies were behind her being there to comfort and encourage me. Shortly after she was called in for her mammo, they came back out and gave me a big thumbs up on mine!!!!!!!
So......Let's get that music started so I can begin my dance with NED!
And, yes, you are all welcome to share the dance - I can't thank you enough for all of your support yesterday and every day - I love you all!
