Coughing

Hello everyone, it has been quite a while since I've posted about my mom. Things had been going pretty well. Now lately she is back to having coughing fits and bouts with gas (burping). Today, her 56th birthday of all days, was actually a pretty miserable one with her barely getting a break from the coughing.
Has anyone else had this problem? She has telescoping stents and I'm worried that they may be causing her problems.
If you have any advice, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks so much.

Hello Amy
Sorry to hear that
Hello Amy
Sorry to hear that your mom is having a coughing issue. You have all had a real rough time of this journey with cancer! I would most definitely call her dr. There could be many causes. I am glad she has been doing quite well up until this point, and do wish her a Happy Birthday! Keep up your good work. Keep in touch.

Hi,
I had a lot of coughing problems after surgery and when I finally had my f/u CT scan it showed pneumonia and lung problems. Turned out I got some permanent lung damage from surgery and radiation. I coughed till I threw up and kept asking about it. Of course they thought it was normal for post op. I did not have stents and it got much worse after my clean up chemo. Just a thought, I was sent to a lung specialist and given lung function tests etc and am now on a regimen of nebulizers and an inhaler. Don't know if this helps but sometimes the drs have to take a closer look, none of this showed up on my post op chest x-rays only on the CT scan. take care and hope she is feeling better.
