Should one bite the ENT doctor?

    Stacey,

    I don't know what the norm is, and I mainly like my ENT, but I bite him every chance I get, on general principals. It's important that your bite appears accidental, as when he/she has their hand down your throat-simply substitute the "bite" for the "gag" relex-, or you can bite them when several people are already biting them, so you won't be singled out.

    If he or she gets in the way bite them, just make sure he is not scoping your nasal passage way when you do….

    Well.....
    Maybe just a nibble..... ;-) my ENT was pretty handsome and two of the residents were hot. But too young. And married. Lol

    Just a little nibble
    Personally, no. I like my ENT doc and he's easy on the eyes. My rad doc, yes, without a doubt. He will get a nibble if he decides to feel my tonsils again with his fingers. He might get a slight kick too if he's standing in the right spot.

    During my consults when the rad/onc palpated the base of my tongues he said " I want my fingers back, sure is tempting. Dont know maybe it might be something we can finally taste.
    All of my docs were topnotch so that didnt even cross my mind until this thread LOL

    Stanford reflexes
    The Head/Neck Surgical Oncologist I see at Stanford has very fast reflexes. I have snapped at him in the past, and he gets that base-of-tongue palpation done so fast and jumps back that I haven't caught him yet.

    I find myself amusing, however sometimes when something strikes me funny, I see not everyone else finds this as hilarious. In fact, I get some looks that suggest I should be seeing a doctor for the parts of my head that are above my ears, rather than below my ears!

    When I had a follow up with my Rad Onc once he had either an intern or a resident with him and wanted to know if they could feel my tongue. I responded, "sure, but I bite." It was good for a laugh.

    I was really tempted to bite my radiation oncologist today when he stuck that stupid scope up my nose, but his fingers weren't in range.

    When your visit with him lasts only a couple minutes? Figured I was the last of the day, on my last visit, and he was already late for a tee-time. Had to even ask the gal at the front desk about when my next PS/CT would be! She had to jog back into the patient area to find-out, and my ENT's Nurse, who must not be a golfer, came out and said it'll probably be a year after my last. Yep- heard this triflin' news from his Nurse!...
    Next visit, when he walks into the room, I should yell, "Fore!"
    "What?" will likely be his response.
    "No, Doc, you're supposed to say 'bite me.' "
    And I might.
