Cecum
Welcome! I understand the freaking out. I felt like I had been hit by a freight train when I was diagnosed with colon cancer in 2006. My tumor was in the cecum like yours is. The surgeon removed the cecum, along with my appendix. After surgery I was terrified of recurrence. The path report showed that mine was caught early (stage 1). I met with an oncologist several weeks after surgery and he said that the standard of care for stage 1 (in 2006) was no chemo or radiation. I was told by my gastro doc that the cecum is the best location to have colon cancer and that adenocarcinoma is the best kind to have. Four and a half years later I have had no recurrence. I'm living proof that a diagnosis of colon cancer is not the end of the world, although your world as you know it will be forever changed.
