    Cecum
Welcome! I understand the freaking out. I felt like I had been hit by a freight train when I was diagnosed with colon cancer in 2006. My tumor was in the cecum like yours is. The surgeon removed the cecum, along with my appendix. After surgery I was terrified of recurrence. The path report showed that mine was caught early (stage 1). I met with an oncologist several weeks after surgery and he said that the standard of care for stage 1 (in 2006) was no chemo or radiation. I was told by my gastro doc that the cecum is the best location to have colon cancer and that adenocarcinoma is the best kind to have. Four and a half years later I have had no recurrence. I'm living proof that a diagnosis of colon cancer is not the end of the world, although your world as you know it will be forever changed.

    Hi
Hi. Welcome! My cancer was in the sigmoid colon, as well. I was diagnosed Nov. 2007, and have been clean since. I was diagnosed at Stage 1.

Praying you are just as fortunate!

    *hugs*

    Sigmoid
I've sigmoid as well. Ask any questions, we're here for pity parties, doing the happy dance, and guidance as best we can give from our own experiences. We'll laugh and cry with you, (um, we prefer the laughter more though, LOL).
But we are here for you.
