Fine, then let's chemo - brainstorm
I couldn't sleep last night (pesty expanders) and had this crazy little idea.
Some of the entries on this discussion board are just priceless and so
unbelievably helpful that they deserve to be shared with breast cancer
patients everywhere. Examples: chenheart's Hogwarts, the brave sister
who flashed her mastectomy scars and even the little saying that someone
posted; Keep an open mind but don't let your brains fall out.
I think it would be so amazing to compose a little handbook from the mouths
of cancer babes. Who better to take away the scary?
I just see myself, just getting diagnosed and then reeling.... no idea what's
happening to me or where to turn. As I said so many time before, I don't know
what I would have done without this site.
We could make it a google document and that way everyone could edit it.
Traci's tiara picture could be on the cover and chenheart's Hogwarts could
be the intro.
What do you think ?

that's a great idea - I
that's a great idea - I agree with you . . . when we're diagnosed, we are "reeling" and don't know where to turn. That would be so nice to give support to newly dx women - and this group of caring, wonderful women would be a GREAT resource!

GREAT IDEA
Last fall, Kylez started a thread 'Is anyone still scared' and I found that so helpful. I was just diagnosed and there was one post in there from 'inkblot' that was magnificent. It helped me so much.
I know that many have received help from the rads threads, I can't remember the name ... but that one is a popular one.
If you could pull this together ... I think it would be so helpful and so needed.0 -

I agree with you. I just think that so many entries on here are so
valuable that they should be captured and passed on to the doe
eyed terrified newly diagnosed women.
I read so many articles, researched so many website but NONE
gave me the info and the comfort as the posts on this site did.

So many times I've read these threads with useful information and I;ve written them down. they have come in so handy. If I had a handbook of everyones side effects, advise, hints etc.... how wonderful that would be. Dr.'s don't tell us everything little thing. But we do and I appreciate you guys so very much that i get teary eyes writing this. I don't know you girls but I love you and pray for you everyday.

Though I haven't met you and don't know you per say -
I really respect and love you guys! Wait I stand corrected
I DID meet Renee and if you guys are anything like her
then I can't help but adore you.
It's funny how things you post resonate into my daily life.
Just yesterday, when Renee asked me to do a walk with her
on 10/10 I was like that's Heatherbelle's birthday.
This would a big project to take on for one person
but if we all chipped in and nominated our favorite posts
we could work them all into a hand book and of course
I would need the ladies who posted give me their consent.
So Chenheart, can I use your Hogwart's as an intro? Of course
I would give you the credit. And Traci can I use your photo
as the cover?
And I need help coming up with a title something silly,
something funny - Can-Sir!!!

Great Thought
You have had a great brain storm. There is a lot of information and input here for every lady at any stage of BC. I just wish I had known about this site when I was going through BC. Keep us updated on progress of putting it all together. KAH0 -

Totally unrelated to your chemo brain-storm (or is that chemo-brain storm)anyway, I really like your new picture; it looks just like the old one except it's you!!

I was thinking the same thing Bob...You resemble your old pic to the real one.0 -

I think it is a great idea!!
I think it is a great idea!! This site is so valuable, it would be fun and informative to read some of already picked out postings.
Also what about a list of doctors that can be referred by some of us going by area. I have had some of the most brilliant (smart and compassionate) doctors that have made such a difference in my experience. I feel so touched and blessed to have them. Even my mother and a close friend who was there during surgery raved about the breast surgeon and plastic surgeon (he is very yummy by the way) and my Onc. is such a sweetheart!0 -

I was thinking we could break it up in sections. And I love the idea
of recommending doctors, we all know what a difference it can make.
And the ladies and gents on this board represent so many different states.
I was thinking this handbook could have a theme of a journey.
So for example:
the first section (Diagnosis) could be called "all aboard" and we could
all describe our experience at the time and what helped us to process
this diagnosis.
Maybe it could be next stop "reality check" = it sinks in, how do I tell
my family, my job, how do I pay for medical care.
And on, and on... the journey goes.

Sometimes the best ideas come from those sleepless nights!! I think it's a wonderful idea. Big project. I like your latest idea of how to break it down into sections.
You are obviously brilliant and should go dancing more often:)
