Added costs of living with EC and other forms
Can anybody relate to the financial implications of seeking cancer treatment? For example, in my early process I have many things on my mind like work. Will I need short-term or long-term disability from my employer which only pays 67% of my pay. What will happen to my bills such as the mortgage? I know that I should take it one day at a time, but i'd like to hear stories about your struggles to meet financial obligations during cancer treatments.
Thanks everyone.

Bills
Hi Paul, Ed went on ssdi immediately after being diagnosed with stage four last October. Unfortunately, his work did not have any disability therefore we were in a big mess. We never received our first check until nine months later, fortunately, my mother helped us out financially or we would of lost our home. Cancer changes everything and I don't want you to get ahead of yourself. You are new at this situation, take one day at a time, everything does work out. We are still struggling but are making it. hope you take the time to figure out your own medical stuff first.

Thanks guys for the feedback. My gut feel tells me to explore my work options as a proactive step and cut back expenses where possible. I also should focus on getting well and having faith that everything will be ok. My wife can pick up more hours, some of my at-home children can help with their cell phone bill, etc.
I'm sure all will work out and appreciate your feedback.

I agree with you!
Hi Paul
I agree with you! That is a great outlook to have. The kids cutting back on the cell phone is a wonderful idea. Do take it one day at a time, work as long as you still can, if you have to go on disability, cross that bridge when you come to it. Stay strong in your mind and in your faith. Keep in touch, and know we will be thinking and praying for you!
