Wondering if anyone has had the drug called, Irinotecan (CPT-11). Brand name: Camptosar?

Hubby is going back into treatment with above drug and 5-fu, cisplatin. He had the 5-fu and cisplatin the first round. The Irinotecan is new to him.

Thanks for any info.

    Thank you Sherri
We have the emend and immodium ready. I could only get them to let me have one day of home hydration. We see the doc before treatment mondy. I may ask him if we can have two. Dehydration got us into trouble last time, I don't want to do that again.

Do you ever feel like your telling the docs how to treat YOUR patient? I feel like that more and more. I told them this wasnt our first "rodeo" and were going to do things better this time! No dehydration or blood clots!! I feel alittle safer having the J tube this time.

    Thanks

    Thank you both
I have become know with the docs also. I haven't been snubbed yet, but I have had the nurses let me follow hubby right into the operating room with him because I was mad at what was going on.

I definatly ask the most question and have been known to stump a resident or two with them.

I did hear a nurse tell hubby once that "boy she doesn't miss anything"........lol.

We are very protective of our loved ones and can become vicous very quickly.

I figure I am the one that picks up the pieces, so it's my way.

    Thanks
    Nancy
