So far...tootsie1 said:My happiness is
walking into my daughter's house each weekday morning and hearing a chorus of running feet and squealing voices saying, "Nanny!!!"
*hugs*

my happiness has been how good I feel on my non-chemo weeks,so far. I've only had 2 treatments, and I hope it continues to be this way. I'm thankful for that "normal" feeling on the off week. -

happiness...
For me, it was last night. It was my wifes birthday and our three daughters, their husbands (and I should add that after all the strange "creatures" they each of our girls drug through our door, when it came down to it....man they did GOOD!) and of course all of the grandkids. We ate, we talked, we laughed...At one point I remember thinking to myself what a wonderful life I have and even if I was given the chance to live a life free of cancer, if it would change the dynamics of what I have now I would decline the offer and never regret the decision. Ill take quality over quanity any day!
hope this finds ya smilin'

Happiness is...
... the multitude of friends I am surrounded with (and "multitude" does not even begin to account for them all)
... the incredible warm, precocious, stubborn, loving, did I say stubborn, playful, I must empathize "stubborn", showoff, happy, almost 13yr old miniature schnauzer who goes by the name of Bridget and allows me to live in this apartment with her.
... my health! Oh sure, I have this little thing called Stage IV colon cancer, but then if I were to think about it, I have other little issues like arthritis pretty much all over, nerve damage from both knees down and aches and pains because someone actually had the gall to remind me we are all getting older and not as young as we act or think we are.
... being retired at age 55 and being able to do anything I want to do because, I can
... being involved big time in the Vancouver theatre community and being able to surround myself in all things theatre, from the local community theatre groups to the professional groups in the city, to even the incoming big touring companies. It's all good and makes me very, very, happy.
... being able to organize, register, put together Summer Musical Theatre Camps for kids.... for kids who may not have ever seen a "live" musical on stage and now are actually taking a class to learn what's all involved.
... being involved in things that are not "all about me" but all about kids, and giving them tools that they will be able to use all their life and to be able to be part of their lives as they get older.
... being well enough and feeling great enough that I can totally enjoy this life I have been given... and I sure am!! I love feeling good, being retired, and looking forward to the next adventure
