I posted here back in May when my husband began going through all of this craziness called lung cancer. Reading all your posts has helped tremendously. He has just finished 3 cycles of cisplatin and gemzar-or his 1st round. I never get the lingo quite right. 6 doeses altogether. Had CT scan last week and the results are in. A 30% decrease in the size of the tumors in the left and right lung, one tumor remained stable. No progression of the cancer was seen at all! The cancer is completed within the lungs. We are going to continue with another 9 weeks of the same protocol. Cisplatin/Gemzar Day 1, Gemzar Day 8, next week off. Will do this 3 times. Rescan and the look at maintenance program, possibly targeted therapy, but need to test for the EFGR marker first, but all that's 9 wks, away. Finally a chance to exhale and inhale again. Reading all your post has been a godsend really-to know your not alone out there is great. And I thought I was the only crazy one :-)
