Welcome
Hi Sandy and welcome to you and your brother. I was a caregiver for my dad. He had the same exact thing happen to him. Dx with ec 11/08, had radiation and chemo, did well, went into remission for one year. In December he got mets to his liver. Had a blocked bile duct, spent 8 days in hospital. Had stent put in blocked bile duct, but the cancer was so far gone and aggressive at this point, he lost his battle on March 9. I am thinking your brother has a good chance of beating this liver cancer if he can just hold on and get through the chemo. It will get worse before it gets better. MD Anderson in Houston has an excellent reputation. They have helped many cancer patients. We will be praying for all of you. Keep in touch.

Liver Cancer
Have him explore SIRS with his Doctor...It is a Radioactive (Beta) Isotope (Y90) they put in you that is aimed at shrinking Tumors in your Liver.. I have (14) Mets/Tumors on my Liver from my Colorectal Cancer I had a yr. ago after a yr of Chemo FOLFOX treatments..., and am doing the SIRS this Wed...Pretty good sucess rate I am told..
Will see...0 -

Thank you so much for your reply...my brother, Rob, has been scheduled to go to MD Anderson around the first week of September, after his final round of chemo and a pet scan. He's battling stong but seems to be getting sicker. I noticed today that he is jaundiced. Did you suffer from jaundice? I look forward to his going to Houston since there's nothing more that they can do at our community hospital here in Southern Oregon.
I look forward to hearing how your SIRS goes for you this coming week. You'll be in my prayers!
God bless!

Thank you, Tina, for your information and most of all, your prayers.
Rob is scheduled to go to MD Anderson the first week of September. Our family is praying for treatment that will treat the tumors on his liver and give him a good quality of life for a long time --
I'll try to keep in touch with all to let you know how he's doing.
God bless you!
