Wow this could be a long one but........
My sick cravings are pancakes for breakfast and they have to be from Cracker Barrel and for lunch homemade chick noodle soup, challah bread warm with butter on it and fresh homemade apple pie with a streusel topping and creamy churned vanilla icecream.
Darn, why'd we have to start this conversation.
P.S. Can you please send me the recipe for yorkshire pudding and shepherds pie lol?

Comfort Food
Fried Balonga Sandwich from WALDO, OHIO, the home of the famous fried balonga sandwich, MUSTARD and TOMATOE and LETTUCE only for me. For Dessert? Why their famous Blackberry Pie!!!!
I LOVED that place, miss it so much now that I'm in California, it was a two hour drive from my house to eat there, but so worth it!!! Next time I'm back there......0 -

Jennie - I thought I was the only one that liked creamed tuna on toast. George thinks it is gross and disgusting and won't even look at it. As he puts it, it looks like someone already ate it and brought it back up. Make a little cream sauce, throw in the tuna and veggies put over toast - yum......

Food.........
One of George's favorites is meat loaf. Now I must admit I make a killer meat loaf and he loves it. Add some veggies and mashed potatoes and he is in heaven. Not exciting, but total comfort food.
Apple pie of course.
Some good vanilla frozen yogurt instead of ice cream with some berries on top and a cup of coffee really rounds out a meal.
For breakfast, when time allows, some fruit filled crepes with maybe some bacon on the side. Light and lucious.
Take care - Tina0 -
For the first time in years
I had to go out for an ice cream sundae. Thanks to all of you! I was frustrated and aggravated, as my recovery from surgery 6 weeks ago is 2 steps forward, one step back, and I still am very limited. Needed comfort food!
As for meals: Brisket is a favorite from growing up (my grandmother's recipe). Also, a good roasted chicken. Side dishes - none in particular as "comfort food".
My mood determines my comfort food needs (tho carbs are high on the list.)0 -

I haven't like anything I used to eat since the treatments have started. I'm eating fruit and Cheerios. Love me some McDonalds 1/4 lb with Fries but I'm trying to avoid them except once and a while. Don't have anyone to cook for me so.........I usually don't feel like cooking. That's why Cheerios0 -

I knew we had "crap" in common..... that's too funny what George said cause my husband says the EXACT same thing. He can't stand to look at it either. I just love the stuff. Go figure!

My meatloaf is in the crockpot as I write. Potatoes just got put on the stove. I make homemade gravy, for veggie I'm just doing cottage cheese with fresh avocado and tomatoes on top. Come on over, pull up a chair or two.0 -

Alhough I was the caregiver not the patient, I've lost over 30lbs through this ordeal (at least I am now a size 6 and it's the only positive thing that came of all of this) but a hot fudge sundae is definitely my weakness! Yesterday was a bad day for me, I was really missing Hank and I went out and got myself a 3 scoop sundae. It did help

OMG!!! Are these what I think they are??? Are they like the things you find in little paper type bags stuffed up the turkey's bum (or hmmm... maybe it's in the neck cavity?) Tell me it isn't so, Kim! Tell me you aren't eating Turkey gizzards?!?!?! LOL!!
But I'll definitely join you in the Lobster with the drawn butter and the pizza with extra cheese.... just don't go putting no gizzards on the pizza
