update on Mike

It has been a while since I posted again,I'm sorry for that. My work has been exhusting and no computer at the house right now either. I do however want to bring you up to date on Mike. recently he had another PET scan which showed an 80% reduction in cancer cells! The tumors were totally gone outwardly. Nothing new has shown up at least not yet!! It showed no new mets. Today he had another endoscopy and they took several biopsys to double check. he also had the esophageal stretch done as well. I am hoping this will help him to eat better. His weight has sort of stabled, still losing a little here and there but not huge amounts every week like he had been. He is also on "happy pills" now, and these do help, alot!!! He's weak, and feels nausea quite a bit, but overall still feels better than before. He's been pretty active, went to Colorado with his dad and stepmother for a week, had a good time. he's socializing with his friends too. The first week of Sept. my husband and I are taking him on another vacation for about 8 or 9 days. His oncologist told him to go, go, go, and live it up as long as he's feeling good, so that's what we're up to!!! The doc also said this is where he wanted to get Mike, at a quality of life place where he can do some things. We hope to keep him here fo a very, very, long time! We are thrilled and it seems like the world doesn;t look like such a dark place right now.

I continue to pray for everyone here, and the families as well. All of you have come to mean so much to me, and keep my spirits lifted and my faith in check. I'll be trying to post a little more so there isn't so much at one time and that way maybe I will do it more often, hehe!

It is great to hear that Mike is doing well. Sounds like you have found the right chemo regimen and the right oncologist. It is also great to hear that Mike has come out of the depression that he struggled with after diagnosis.
