Because it's surgery
and most everyone I know, me included, suffer from the "jitters" before surgery. The more invasive the surgery, the more nervous I became.
Maybe because it's reconstructive surgery, it's a little more nerve wracking wondering how it'll turn out? I know I thought about that. Plus knowing my surgery would last 8 hours didn't help.
But you know what? Like all other surgeries, it will feel like you just closed your eyes for a second and before you know it, it's over.
Don't feel lost. We're all going through this with you.
You'll be in my thoughts and prayers for strength and peace.
Blessings,

As you already know, the waiting is the hardest part. hang in there. You are much braver than me as I can't bring myself to do the reconstruction.
Of course you're nervous. Who wouldn't be?? Will keep you close in my thoughts and pryaers. -
Being nervous before something like this is very "normal."survives said:You will get through this!

I can't imagine not being nervous and filled with anxiety. The waiting is definitely the worst part. I hope these days fly by for you and the surgery comes and goes quickly and that you're soon on the other side of this. We'll all be pulling for you and have you in our prayers. You can do this--you are a warrior and a survivor. May you be filled with positive energy and courage.

I am sorry and completely understand. I had 4 surgeries, including immediate reconstruction, 6 Chemo cycles, 40 radiations with smile, making jokes and comforting my doctors. I guess I lost my bravery and now even a simple blood test makes me nervous. I cannot bring myself to any elective procedure anymore. It is normal since you underwent rigorous treatments and have been through a lot . I am sure you will be fine and happy after it is over. Sending positive thoughts and prayers your way.
Good luck,

Thanks guysCypressCynthia said:Pavlov's dogs?
I think we are all now like Pavlov's dogs and react everytime we are having tests, surgeries, etc. At least, I know that's how I am. It's hard not be anxious when you've been through it before. Sending positive healing energy and good thoughts your way!
all the well wishes and prayers are great!! Thank you all so much. Its helping!!
take care
