Just sending a note to let you know that you are in my thoughts & prayers. Hope that these days go by quickly for you and that soon the chemo will be a thing of the past!

Sorry it is so bad. I was thinking of you today as I was reading my national geopgraphic. I had a rough time too. different s/e but bad none the less. this is hard as it still doesnt seem over, but once you get the next one down you will see that light. if you look carefully you may be able to see it now. You will be so glad you finished. but it does suck no other way to discribe it. Dont know why some people do ok and others have a harder time. I told my husband for me it was like rat poison, but in order to be well it is a must . so a targeted one I guess. hugs tight ones. and dig in YOU CAN DO IT. you are tough if you can dive in caves!!!!!!!!!!!!!!0 -

temp lowered
my temp went down overnight, so I do not have to worry about hospital stay this week! Yeah. the sever intestinal pains still are here....but taking the cypro as ordered.......BP is 90/60 this a.m. with high pulse, so I guess hydration will be on again. Amazing how you can drink gallons of water, and still you are dedydrated! Actually looking forward to getting to Cancer Center for treatment today.......I know I will feel a bit better each day....and the pain fromthe neupogen was not so bad this time...strange...did not even take the pain pill last night. But, who knows what today will bring...it is always such a mystery and surprise. Have totally lost appetite now, but doing smoothies, BOOST, and forced myself to do some oatmeal earlier. Now I gotta paint on some eyebrows and face so I don't scare the newbies at the Center!0 -
Feel free to whine
Feel free to whine - that's what we're here for. You cannot possibly feel strong all the time. Think about it - everybody, well or not, has stronger and weaker days and battling a serous illness seems to follow that pattern although more pronounced on the down days. Whatever you do, try not to get into the guilt mode when you are having bad days. As you say, this too shall pass ( my mantra lately). Good luck!!0 -
Hey Cavedivercavediver said:home again...update...
just got home....they hydrated me, gave me injection for nausia, and the ever lovely neupogen shot today and for the next couple of days I go back for more! They said this time they could not find 'any' white blood cells! But this time I got something to help with the pain from neupogen shot....last time (2 days) it was rough on me. So, I am feeling a lot better.....also have cypro to take for 7 days.....so the intesinal infection should cease. Geeze, this is so much fun, eh? Glad to be feeling a bit better now.........and I will get through this.......what with all of you encouraging me...I know is it worse for others, and of course it is all different.......but yes, I can see the slightest glow at the end of this chemo tunnel! Thank the Lord for the caring and lovely nurses at the Cancer Center........and thanks to all of you!
Glad to hear you are feeling a little better. Hang in there girl! Only 2 more chemos to go! Yay!!!!! I'm sure you see the light at the end of the tunnel.0 -

Hang in there Cavediver, you are almost done and then we will be dancing with you in celebration. You are right when you say "this too shall pass" indeed it will and life will brighten become enjoyable once again. It is a process, a doable process and you will get there. Please be sure to tell your doctor all the symptoms you have mentioned here, write them down so you do not forget any of them so your onco can tend to you and give you the best care possible. You will feel better once you are hydrated, let us know how you are doing.
Hugs,
RE
Just keep thinking only TWO more to go!
Sending you strength, prayers and hugs!

You are almost there. That last few steps are the toughest in the marathon that we call treatment.Keep your eye on the prize (happy, healthy days) and hang in there.Think about that vacation that happens when you are finished with your treatment.Ride the wave. You will land on your feet and ready to get on with your life. You are woman, you are strong!
Sending positive thoughts and prayers your way. Feel better.

improvement........but then Lymphedema starts in
Today they gave me IV hydration again, third shot of neuprogen, and a new first time for me injection for the red blood cells, hmmmm, seems everything was killed off this week. The white blood cells with 0 count on Tuesday are starting to be forced out :-), and now some red ones will be forced to be born also.....still have sore throat etc, but overall feeling much better. So in case I was starting to feel too good....the body decided to show signs of lymphedema...arm and had swollen during night and still today. Onc nurse said doc said he would give me referral when I see him (geez, that is another 12 days out)! It just keeps getting better and better! But I am ok with all of it.... it is what it is and the adventure continues!0 -

But, so sorry about the lymphedema. I am sure your oncologist can help you with it. So many on here have lymyphedema and can offer you good advice too.
Hang in there cavediver,

There are just times when it's appropriate to whine and I'd say this is an appropriate time for you, Cavediver. It does sound like you've had some improvement and I certainly hope that continues. We're all here and I'm adding my prayers to the others.

You can do this and things WILL get better soon. You just come on here whenever you want and whine away if you have to--we'll be here for you!

Oh-
You can do this!! You can totally do this! We believe in you because you believe in us. You will get through all of this and look back on it as, let's just say a speed bump. I know it doesn't feel that way now. Give yourself permission to hurt and feel crummy. It sucks! No doubt about it!!! Hey, we're all pulling for you.xoxo0 -

With such rough side effects, does your doctor say you have to continue with #7 & #8? My oncologist had me scheduled for 6 treatments of T/C. After #5, I said I couldn't take any more (guess I'm a wimp). Then I found out that most people get 4 treatments of T/C. Best of luck with your continuing if you do, sounds just awful.0 -

Cavediver, I so feel sorry for all you are going through and it seems we've had a lot of the same problems while taking chemo. I had to take 12 weekly treatments and after #7, I started going downhill and from then on it was real rough. My onc said I could quit but I just didn't feel like that was an option. So I was miserable, anemic and spent a lot of time in bed but I had my 12th treatment this week, my last one and I crawled over the chemo finish line, but I made it. You can do this, just take one day at a time and deal with that. I had neupogen shots too and they did me in every time. I also have lymphedema and went to a specialist, got some exercises to do, and I wear a compression sleeve on the days when my arm is swollen. It has gone down but I just have to take good care of it. Hope you get some relief for all your problems, but just keep on going, even if you think you're not getting anywhere. You're in my thoughts and prayers.0
