Update on BIL

Hello everyone. My BIL (DAN) passed away today. He'd been battling EC for 18 mos. They told him Feb. 09 he was terminal, stage IV. They gave him 6 mos. He had aggressive chemo and radiation and eventually a stent put in. He was never a candidate for surgery. He told my SIL he didn't regret any of the treatments he had. I can't lie, his time was not all quality time. The last 3 mos. were bad. He should have been in hospice but he wanted to be home and that's where he stayed. My SIl couldn't have managed without the love and support of family and friends. I just wanted to say, thanks for the words of kindness and encouragement. Even though he lost his fight, he lasted 3 x longer than they said he would He was a fighter to the end.
Hugs and blessings to all of you. Keep fighting the good fight.

So sorry to hear the sad news about your brother in law
Cindy,
I am so sorry to hear your brother in law has left us. I am sure Dan is in a better place where pain and suffering are a thing of the past.
I am glad to hear his final days were at home surrounded by the people who loved him.

Hi Cindy Bear
Sorry to hear
Hi Cindy Bear
Sorry to hear of Dan's passing. Reminds me very much of my dad's journey. Dad lasted 16 mos. Some win at this battle, some don't, but at least they put up a good strong fight. Please give your sil my sympathies as well. I continue to come to this site to help others. I hope you do as well. It has helped me tremendously to help others from my experiences. May God bless you all and give you peace at this time. Keep in touch.

Thanks
Thank you all for you kind thoughts and wishes. Yes We can use those prayers. Esp. my SIL as she goes thru this very difficult time. Having lost my mother to uterine cancer last year, my FIL suddenly to a heart attack a couple of months ago, and now my BIL,has made me feel like the world is a big, dark, cold place. But then I come here, and the love and support of people I've never met, renews my faith in mankind. Today was the funeral. It was a gorgeous, sunny (but not too hot)day . There was a big turnout and we gave him a lovely send off. My SIL said she is comforted in knowing that they tried everything. They left no stone unturned in treatments, and had no regrets as far as woulda, coulda, shoulda.
Hugs,
Cindy0
