I received the wonderful news this morning that my PET scan came back clear. I was very thrilled to say the least. I met with a plastic surgeon yesterday and was waiting on making my decision regarding surgery until I knew these results.
My surgery has been scheduled for Wednesday, August 4th. I am having a bilateral mastectomy with immediate reconstruction. My surgeon is also performing a lymph node dissection. I am truly looking forward to once again getting this beast out of my body. Any further treatment will not be determined until the final pathology report is in. Sound familiar? I think having been through most of this previously, I have a better understanding of the timetable involved and am finding myself a bit more patient.
So, thank you all for your kind words, prayers and more importantly encouragement and love. I love you all and am so thankful that you are here to help me slay this beast one more time. Hopefully, this will do the trick!!

Great news! Good luck with your surgery.

You got through this nightmare once, you can get through it again, and I completely understand your choice the first time, I'm right there right now myself and I think you just helped me make my decision. My gut instinct is telling me to go with the double mastectomy and I really think I will.
Doing the chemo has been a piece of cake for me, a walk in the park so to speak, those rads sounds terrible to me and I'd rather avoid that if I can so yes I want the new boobs. Thanks for sharing your experiences. You never know whom you might be helping. -

You just know how my face is hurting from your good news...I can't stop smiling! A clean PET scan~FANTASTIC!
Wednesday August 4th~ you are enveloped by all the love we can muster, and yah, isn't it sort of incredible who the 2nd time a round is a bit more "familiar" and so not quite so anxiety -provoking? Not that it's a cake walk or anything ( do cake-walks still exist, I wonder?) but I understood what you meant about being a bit more patient.
Hugs and all good, positive, caring, great results thoughts and wishes are with you, good friend!
