Vinny, I have only had the 2
Vinny, I have only had the 2 rounds as you know. I am just glad to hear it is working. The same questions would go through my mind as well.Maybe thats why they have the 6 and 8 rounds to begin with. Then the scan at the mid way point is just to see how well it is working. I am sure several people on here will have more info on this. I will be anxious to read the post myself. Hang in there and congrats on the progress. I will be talking to you. John0 -

P.E.T. scan
Hey Vinny...I can't be any help at all because I'm still waiting to start treatment. BUT.... I can say how happy I am to hear that the treatment "IS" working and the lymph node in your chest is gone! Thats one less place to worry about..ya know? What John said makes good sense to me...you probably just need to finish out the treatments and then see where everything is at. In the meantime I will just keep thinking positive thoughts for you and be happy about the positive things that are taking place in your progress.
On-ward and up-ward! Thinking of you....Sue0 -

Hey Vinny
I'm actually on my 6th cycle of ABVD, my first Pet scan was done during cycle 4 and I was told the same. My results came back and I was very disappointed. The results showed quite a bit of inflamation around the tumor in my chest. Though it has shrank tremendously, I was still hoping to already be done by now. My next PET scan is Tuesday and I have faith that it wont be to much longer before I'm done. You are all in my prayers, I know how disappointed these things can be, just stay positive! A positive attitude can get you anywhere Take care and God Bless!0 -

As far as I'm concerned working is working. The mass in your chest is gone? No wonder you had some shortness of breath along the way. As I think Tracie said there's a big inflammatory process that goes along with killing this stuff. If I'm not mistaken the bone areas are a little more stubborn especially when taking the Neulasta. The two processes are fighting over the same territory. Of course the chemo will win. I had it in some bone areas too and it was resolved. To be honest it did show it to be gone on my first PET scan but they were very surprised by this, maybe shocked is a better word. But as we have to worry, I remember thinking at the time that it was too fast and now will it return faster?? Lol! I did not need the Neulasta so maybe that was why. With the chest area clear it will hit any hot spots with full power. Imagine the poor folks that show no change at all. Keep the faith. Those results were worth it. Mary0 -
