Louann near death: FINAL UPDATE

saddened, yet feel peaceful too
I, too, am very saddened by this news, but thought that we'd be hearing this soon- just not yet. It was just in January that Louann mailed me her leftover Xeloda pills (when I was having trouble getting insurance coverage). She mailed the pills to me because she said she didn't need them anymore. Literally, the day after I received them in the mail, she sent me an email asking me to please send them back to her, as she just discovered she had a recurrence. She was probably being a bit too hasty in sending them to me before she had her results, but she is a caring person and wanted to help me.
I know Louann has made her peace with God and does not fear death- although I am still very sad for her, her husband, friends, and family, I have a sense of peace about her death knowing that she is not afraid. The burden is always left on the spouse and other loved ones. I will be praying for them.
Thank you for the updates.

Louann has died
At 9:00 last night, Louann was resting peacefully, in no pain. Hospice couldn't get a blood pressure reading. By 10:00, she had entered her eternal rest with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Thank you for lifting her up and sharing good thoughts, well wishes and good vibes. I know it meant so much to her.

From Louann's husband's family:
We got a call a little bit ago and they have only given Louann 36 hours. Please keep them in your prayers. Her husband called his mother to let her know. mama talked to my cousin and he said that Louann said she is ready to go home. He said she was always sick on her stomach and that nothing was doing any good. He is doing ok and said they are ready to let her go home.
My thoughts and Prayers are with her and her family. God Bless. Margaret0 -

Oh, dear. It's not unexpected, but it makes me so very sad. I am glad, though, that Louann is at rest now and in no pain. My prayers are with her family.dianetavegia said:Louann has died

I to
believe that I was put here on this earth to serve God in any way I can whether it is helping the sick and just leading an ear if some one cries. I know that alot of people think if we serve God we are strange and tend not to feel as we do about it some wear it on their sleves like a name badge and others just try to live the life God wants us to live. I am living proof that God is real I had alot of cancer and he healed me from that but tomorrow I go and find out about this new cancer and if I have read correctly this news may not be as good and I told everyone praying to ask that God's will be done and he don't always so ok you will live some times he says you need to come home(heaven) and if he does I am prepared to go . I don't want to die no one does but we all will at some time or another. I am going to heaven if I do die in the next 3 months and I say don't cry for me just be thankful you had me this long...

She was at peace
I'm surprised to hear she already passed away last evening, but I am so glad and relieved to hear that she was sleeping peacefully and did not appear to be in any pain. I will be praying for her husband and family.
It was nice to read the post by Louann that Sonia found and posted. Louann was not afraid to die. How many people can truly say and feel that?
I'm glad I share the same beliefs and assurance that Louann believed in.
Hugs to everyone- I know it's hard to hear of anyone's death because it makes our own situation all the scarier. I try hard not to focus on that too much- it is a reality that happens, especially when we log in often to a cancer forum. We just all have to remember that each of us are individuals with individual and unique feelings and physical makeup. Our bodies all respond differently to various treatments and just because others have passed on, does not mean that we are also all going to die from this. Some of us will, some of us will fight it for quite a bit longer first, and some of us will be cured. I vote for the latter, but we just never know. There's an old hymn that most modern churches don't play in their music on Sundays anymore, but it's "Because He Lives". That's how I get through all this... by repeating and believing the words of these lines in the hymn... "Because He lives, I can face tomorrow... because He lives, all fear is gone...Because I know He holds the future, and life is worth the living just because He lives." Some of you won't like what I just wrote- I'm not trying to preach, I'm just sharing how I deal with all the sadness of life and sad news I read on the cancer board.
Rest in peace, dear Louann- I know you're in heaven celebrating no more pain, no more cancer, no more fear.
