My Husband had colorectal cancer in Jan, had some pain in the coccyx area. We did radiation, tumor removal, takedown was three weeks ago. The past week the pain has gotten really bad. He describes it as having fallen and hit his tailbone but hurts 1000 times worse. Only time he has relief is with sitz baths or heating pad. Hurts sitting or standing the worse. His doctor is unsure why he has this pain. His is on hydrocodone with minimal refief. Anybody else have this and information can you offer?

    Hi
    We have had 2 board

    Hi

We have had 2 board members who had rectal cancer with mets to the sacrum- one was robinvan and the other one is johnSFO. Neither one are very active on the board, so hard to tell if they will see your note or not? My suggestion is to pm them through the board and ask for their input.

From what I know of my own cancer treatment and what these 2 men have been through- your husband could have a reoccurance in this area. When was his last scan and has his doctor ruled out that this could be a reoccurance? Does his oncologist know he is having this kind of pain? The one thing that sticks out for me is the degree of pain you are writing about- both Rob and John have been there with the pain and it is pretty bad.

My suggestion is to try and pm these two guys, and to please force the issue with his doctor and wanting some answers about what is going on in his body so hopefully he can get a better handle on the pain.

    thanks for info
Thank you for responding and I will try to PM. We did have a scan on the 21st and are waiting to hear back from the surgeon. There appears to be inflammation but not known why. Did increase his pain med for comfort till we figure this out.
