help
First thing, calm down. I understand you are excited with symtoms like that. It does not mean you have lymphoma. The only way to know what is going on is to go to the dr. and have test done. Let your mom read this posting so she will know symtoms like that should not be ignored. There is not any way of telling what the problem is unless it is properly diagnosed. The symtoms you are showing are nothing to be ignored and I can't be more firm than that. You will be getting more posts from other members on this site and I am sure they will back what I am saying. Keep us posted of what developes. One more thing to tell your mother is cancer is a virus as well. John0 -

Please ask your mother "again" to make you a doctors appointment. You are so young and scared and that alone warrants a visit to the doctor. Swollen glands are NOT something to be ignored. Do you have other family members you can talk too? Please let us know how things progress for you and I will keep you in my prayers.0 -

yes you're mum really should take you to be checked out. It may be nothing but you CANNOT take that chance. I was the same age as you and also had a lump in the right side of my neck (and i am not saying this to scare you but your mum needs to be aware).
Please click on my username and let your mum read my 'about me' page or print it off for her. But please dont ignore it.
(((hugs)))

You should get checked
Hey you never know. Hopefully you have a simple infection and that's it but the fact that you wrote on this sight leads me to believe that you/ve done some homework and really need to get to a doctor if for no other reason to ease your mind. I hope everything works out and you get checked and are fine. Good luck!0 -
Enlarged nodes
Thought about you all night. Please have someone check you out for those enlarged nodes. Like everyone was saying, they are nothing to play with. Enlarged nodes are your body telling you something. Just want to determine what could be wrong. It may be something simple, but still needs to be checked to make it better. I know you want it checked and that is smart on your part. If all fails go to a clinic on your own. Don't let them brush you off. A lot of drs. will do that before they send you to a specialist. Sometimes you have to be persistant. Keep us informed and good luck. John0 -
cancer
I think the good part of your post is that you have had the swollen glands for more than 2 years. Seems like the cancer would have progressed much further than this in this amount of time. The night sweats and all are very concerning though. And you are in the "typical" age group for lymphoma. I was diagnosed dlbc lymphoma in December. The night sweats, and I mean sweats and the lump were my first sign. I am so sorry that your Mom is just ignoring this. YOu must get help, and very soon. Haven't you seen a doctor at all in the past couple of years? Please find someone who will listen to you as soon as possible. You are in my prayers.0 -

Thank you all for being supportive and giving me the advice i need to hear. I ended up going to the doctors yesterday and got put on some antibiotics for two weeks and he said if the lump didnt go down by then, then i could give him a call and he would set me up with someone that could perform a needle biopsy. I will definitley keep you guys posted and i may post a few pictures of my neck so if any of you have any spare time maybe you could look at them and tell me if it really doesn't look like i need to worry, or if i do! Love you guys (:0 -

Hi, that looks just like the lump I had, its called a branchial cleft cyst, usually they are not cancerous. I would go to a Ear Nose and Throat doctor. Hope that helps.....Vinny0 -

So glad you came back and told us you went to the doctor. It really put my heart at ease, as I've thinking about you since you first posted how scared you were. I'll be anxious to hear back if the lump goes down with taking the antibiotic. Take care and I'll continue to pray and think good positive thoughts for you.

Its been over two weeks now..after taking the antibiotics the swelling definitley went down, but the lump is still there and making itself known. My mom thinks that since it went down, there's nothing to worry about. So thank you all for your support, but I guess i'm not going to do anything about it..just wait and see what happens..:/
Much love,

Sometimes swelling will go down with antibiotics, but it still needs to be determined. Drs sometimes are hesitant about sending people to the right person. Keep following it up. You have to find out what it is. Whatever it is it is not normal. Your body is trying to tell you something. John0
